ValentÍn Magaña
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 20, 2017

(04/17/17 Insider Obituary Archives) - ValentÍn Magaña, 52, of Plainview, passed away on April 16, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

There will be a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Lemons Memorial Chapel.

ValentÍn was born in Laredo, Texas on February 15, 1965 to Manuel Jesús and Isidra (Vasquez) Magaña. He was raised and lived his entire life in Plainview. ValentÍn worked for many years at the Farmers Compress in Plainview.

He is remembered by Mary, his wife and companion of over 14 years as a kind, generous man. ValentÍn was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a gifted handyman. Family was very important to him and it was evident in his love for his parents, his children, grandchildren and his siblings. He enjoyed dancing, playing dominoes and chess. ValentÍn was very loving and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Altagracia Arias of Laredo, Texas; his wife, Mary Garza of the home; three sons, ValentÍn Magaña, Jr. of Nebraska, Timoteo Magaña and wife Ana of Vernon, Cipriano Magaña of California; step-son, Andrew Ray Jimenez and wife Gennie of Canyon; daughter, Norelia Magaña and husband David of Dallas; step-daughter, Marie Jimenez and husband Aaron of Plainview; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Jessie Magaña and Daniel Magaña, both of Plainview and three sisters, Juanita Campos of Petersburg and Lucinda Magaña and Rosa Maria Magaña both of Plainview. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
