Antonio "Tony" Cardenas
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 30, 2017

(05/26/17 Insider Obituary Archives) - Funeral service for Antonio "Tony" Cardenas, 75, of Lubbock will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton with Pastor Fred Smith officiating. Burial will be at Southland Cemetery in Southland, TX. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, immediate family only, and from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm for friends and family, and Monday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Celebration Christian Center in Slaton.

He died Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home in Lubbock, TX. He was born June 16, 1941 in Nixon, TX. He married Rosa Cardenas on Jan 10, 1991 in Crosbyton, TX. He worked for the BNSF railroad for many years.

Survivors Include: wife Rosa Cardenas of Lubbock, 4 sons; Albert Sarabia with wife Cathy of Lubbock, Dino Cardenas with wife Delia of Ft. Worth, Mark Cardenas with wife Teresa of Lubbock, and Lee Cardenas of Ft. Worth, 2 daughters; Sonia DeLeon with husband Lou of Lubbock and Tina Salas with husband Kalab of Lubbock, 7 brothers; Efrian Cardenas with wife Delores of Slaton, Manuel Cardenas of Slaton, Fred Cardenas with wife Gloria of Slaton, George Cardenas with wife Virginia of Lubbock, Abel Cardenas with wife Becky of Albuquerque, NM, Daniel Cardenas of Lubbock, Eli Cardenas with wife Micaila of Slaton, 2 sisters; Hortensia Perez with husband Ruben of Slaton, Lucy Hernandez Valderaz with husband Stephen of Southland, TX, 19 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; Benito and Dionisa Cardenas, 1 daughter; Cynthia Cardenas, one son; Sonny Sarabia, and one grandson; John Cardenas.
