Grumpiest Old Men's
Pool Tournaments
(Hale Center, Texas)

07/05/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful day for pool at the north end of Hale Center. Doyle called me with the story. (I'm still tied up and can't join GOM gang, hope to next week!) Coach Jackie was in ICU in Lubbock, no report yet on why. Doyle said there was a lot of good pool playing going on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dad came from Lubbock, the Littlefield Flash came from Littlefield and the whole crew (minus me) made it at least one of the two days, CD was shooting good, Dad shot good as usual Ted took time out from farming to play. Ted is tough in Annie Oakley. Mr. Wiggy shot a few games before he had to check the beets. (Mr. Wiggy is a busy man.) Mr. Farmer put on a display of cue control for a few games. Little Earl came in and shot a few games in between his coaching sessions. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays..... Tj

06/25/2014---- Wednesday was a nice cool day of pool on the north end of Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Had a good crowd considering how well the weeds are growing. I was confined to quarters, but I got it from a reliable source that it was a FUN day. Coach Jacky and Doyle arrived first and prepped the table and warmed it with a few games of one on one. Both claimed to be the winner. Ted came in and won his share before CD got there and the Annie Oakley started. Ted and Coach was on a winning streak when Little Earl showed up and teamed with CD and ended their run. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) played a few games before he had to go pick turnips or beans? Mr. Wiggy always has a good garden. Banker Ray came by, but declined an offer to play. I talked to Ish, but his weeds were getting out of hand. Mr. Farmer showed his "stuff" for a few games before his ole back played out. The Littlefield Flash Came by on Monday and had a setee with a few of the Grumpiest Old Mens. Whatever day the Flash can get off he comes by to play. Grumpy came by late, but his weeds are out of hand also so he couldn't play. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.... Tj

06/11/2014---- Wednesday was a wonderful day for pool. The grumpiest Ole Mens was short a lot of players (too much work.) Doyle and Coach were the "stayers" the others Ted, Cd, Ronnie, Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) were in and out. Coach and Doyle won the most Annie Oakley games. CD got there before the Annie Oakley started and was unbeatable. Martin, Myself, Dad, Ish and The Littlefield Flash were no shows. Everyone is hoping to get back in the groove soon. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Thank you Lord for the rain! TJ

06/01/2014---- Wednesday was a great day for eightball on the north end of Hale Center. I was tied up on a paint job and couldn't make it.Sure miss the Annie Oakley. Doyle filled me in on the goings ons so ......He said Coach had the table ready when he got there and they rolled a few (of course Doyle said he was ahead when Grumpy showed.) The three battled back and forth until Ted got there for Annie Oakley. Ted always adds a lot of zing to the table so he and Coach whupped Doyle and Grumpy. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by, but didn't play. Ted and Grumpy were busy farming and didn't stay very long. Little Earl and CD came in and took over plenty quick. Doyle said CD was hotter than a pistol. Little Earl. well he's just Little Earl. Bobby came in and rooted everyone on. Martin and I hope to be there Wednesday, sure miss the Annie Oakley. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. TJ

05/26/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful day to be alive and shoot pool at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall on the north end of Beautiful downtown Hale Center. Everyone always has a good time and did so this Wednesday even though time is a factor now, planting and other necessary things such as work ruining a perfectly good day for FUN! Coach opened and warmed the table while waiting on the crew to get there. Coach is improving every day it seems. Grumpy showed and obliged Coach for a few games, they both claimed to have won the most games? Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by and showed off his trick shooting skills before he had to tend the beans and peas. Yep! He's a busy man. Ted came in and shot until noon and then back to work. He said pool was more fun, but...

CD got there in time to get in on some Annie Oakley. Little Earl and Doyle rounded out the crew and teamed to win a few. Hard to say who was the big winner, but we are all winners. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

Ps! Our roof is caving in little by little so we will someday have to move. IF anyone wants to volunteer enough room for a pool table we sure would appreciate it. TJ

05/13/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful day for pool. Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) got there first and readied the table. Grumpy came in with the Idea that he could whup everybody in town, well he took care of Coach for a few games before Coach turned loose the Ninja Kid and won a couple before Doyle came in and took his share of games, Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Mr, Farmer showed at the same time and teamed in Annie Oakley to thrash Doyle and Coach. They were hot for several games before Ted came in and teamed with Doyle to break their winning streak. CD was a little late getting there and Got to team with Little Earl, they lost a few and won a few, mostly it was that way all day. Doyle said it would have been tough to pick the winner of the day, I say they are ALL winners. I sure miss being there, maybe next week? Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. TJ

05/04/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful day for pool, but I was in FW making a living for the doctor. I haven't been able to contact any of the GOM to post results, when I do I will let everyone know. Until then I suggest everyone read their Insider and let Terry and Sally know how much we appreciate them. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. TJ

04/24/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful, windy day. The GOM were on vacation. Hopefully the weather and work schedules will cooperate and we will come roaring back next Wednesday. Until we return read your Insider and be happy that it is spring! Fun, fun, fun. TJ

04/21/2014---- Wednesday was a beautiful day for eightball. Martin and I started the day by warming the table with a few games of singles while we waited for the others. Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) came in and had a setee with Martin, they both won two each before Ted came in and started the Annie Oakley. Ted is always tough and he and Coach whupped Martin and I a few games before CD came in and partnered with Martin to knock them off their high horse. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by and gave lessons in trick shooting. Mr. Farmer won a few with Doyle before he had to leave. Doyle was hot when Martin and I had to leave. We went by Owl City and ate a very good chickenfry, the service was excellent. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

04/14/2014---- Wonderful day at the Grumpiest Ole Mens Pool Hall Wednesday. No fire necessary, such a beautiful day. Martin and I arrived and warmed the table. Martin is shooting better pool these days. Coach Jacky came in first and he and Martin had a set of three with Martin edging Coach. Ted came in and Martin and I took Ted and coach for a short ride, I think we won four out of five. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by and declined an offer to take my place. CD showed up with fire in his eyes. He was playing the best pool of his time of playing with us. He and I won five and our luck ran out and we didn't win another game until lunch. After Lunch Doyle showed up and things changed. Ted and Doyle took about a half dozen games before CD and I got back in stroke. Martin teamed with Ted and finished our day with several in a row. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

04/04/2014---- Windy Wednesday! It was a good day for pool, but we nearly lost the door a couple of times. Martin and I arrived at the joint first and Martin lit the stove. The others asked why we lit it and WELL It was chilly. Martin and I had time before Coach got there and took out Martin, I beat Coach then Martin beat me. Martin has been shooting good the past few weeks. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man,) Ted, CD and Little Earl all got there at the same time so we flipped coins for partners. CD and I took on Coach and Ted, we won four in a row before our luck ran out... Mr. Wiggy and Little Earl sat us down real quick, they won a couple then Martin and Ted started a five game winning streak. Tough! Everyone went to lunch except Martin and I. Doyle came in and I let Martin play him while I chowed down on a big helping of pork and beans. When the guys filtered back in we got back to our hootin' and hollerin.' We had a good day. Doyle won the last game for the championship. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

04/02/2014----Warm weather sure is changing our Wednesdays up. It seems like everyone is coming out of their WINTER SLUMP and shooting pool a lot better. Coach Jacky lit the fire and went about his biz of running traps while the place warmed some. I arrived first and rolled a couple of games before Coach got back. Ted and Mr. Wiggy(he's a busy man) got there at the same time, Mr. Wiggy declined an offer to play first so Ted took out the Coach and then I made a good run of four games before CD got there. CD and I whupped Ted and Coach a few games before Mr. Farmer came in and teamed with Coach. Ted and I was doing pretty good until Mr. Farmer Turned loose. Jose and Coach turned loose the Ninja Kid and Ted and I lost several in a row. CD drew Ted and they won three before Doyle showed up and showed them up! I guess Mr. Farmer's side pocket shots or CD's long rail shots were the best for the day. It was a wonderful Wednesday on the north side of Hale Center. Come join us when you get a chance. Fun, fun, fun. Tj

03/24/2014----Wednesday was a good day for pool.We are building our games back to normal shooting, we were in a slump. (Winter time blues I guess?) Coach went to the joint and lit the heater before he had to start running his traps. Martin and I arrived first and warmed the table, Coach came in and loosed the Ninja Kid on Martin, Martin sure was amazed at what happens when the Ninja kid pops out. Ted showed and we started Annie Oakley. Coach and I thumped Martin and Ted a couple of games befor CD showed up and teamed with Ted, they set me down for a spell. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and got a quick dose of beating Ted before he had to go remove tumbleweeds. Doyle came in and won a couple with Ted before CD and Coach took them out. When Little Earl came in he drew Doyle and they did good the first game and then their luck ran out. Banker Ray came in and hooted and hollered for a while, but declined an offer to play. I think he would rather bug CD? We are still missing a few players, but warm weather may fix that? Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

03/14/2014----The north side of Hale Center was buzzing Wednesday. Martin and I got to the joint (Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall) and Coach had lit the fire and went to town so Martin and I warmed the table for about an hour before Coach and CD showed up. We played Annie Oakley for a few games before Ted came in and thought he was tough. Shelly and Betty brought Dad down from Lubbock, they visited a while and left Dad there to show who the toughie was, he sure was shooting good (The old Nathan popped out in him.) Mr. Wiggy came in and played two games (won both) and had to leave to burn tumble weeds. (Mr. Wiggy is a busy man.) Doyle showed up and teamed with Dad and of course they won a few before CD and Martin beat them. Ted was shooting really good and Little Earl showed up and started coaching and well, it didn't seem to help. Little Earl won his share before his back gave out, sometimes I wonder if we might be getting old!?! Fun, fun, fun. Come - join us on Wednesdays. Tj

03/10/2014----Wednesday was the best day for pool and the best day of pool shooting in a long time. Martin and I got there and Coach Jacky had the heater going, the table racked and was ready for action. He beat Martin and I beat him, then Martin beat me and well, we played for an hour before Ted showed up and we started Annie Oakley. Ted is always tough and he and Martin beat Coach Jacky and I four straight before CD came and teamed with Coach, they took Martin and Ted plenty pronto. Little Earl came in and coached a game before he started his powerful long shots. Little Earl shot better than he has in months, in fact we all did. Mr. Wiggy came by, (but he's a busy man) and didn't have time to play. We had alot of missing GOM; Dad, The Littlefield Flash, Ish and Banker Ray. Sure hope pretty weather brings them back. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

03/05/2014----Wednesday was a vacation day for the Grumpiest Ole Mens. Hope to be back in gear next Wednesday. In the meantime take a stroll through the Hale Center Insider and look for the things others miss. From front to back it is the best around. Come join us on Wednesdays. Fun,fun, fun. Tj

02/20/2014----Wow! What a great day for pool. Tee shirts were the dress code of the day, all but two wore a tee. It was so nice out that it was hard to get things going inside. Coach got there early and warmed the table (that little extra practice time helps.) Ted came in next and he and Coach was tied up tight when Cd came in and started giving lessons. Those guys are tough early in the day. Grumpy, Mr. Wiggy and I arrived at the same time as the Littlefield Flash so we flipped for partners and started Annie Oakley. Ted and I took on Coach and the Littlefield Flash and got whupped right quick. I think Flash has been practicing somewhere. Ted and I didn't win a game for a couple of hours, but when we got going Ted was tough. Grumpy and Mr. Wiggy lost their first game and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) had to go run traps. Mr. Farmer teamed with Grumpy and the won three in a row, Mr. Farmer made the shot of the day when he cut the one ball in with a baloney thin cut. He IS the side pocket king. We had a good day, everyone won and lost, but really we are ALL winners. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

02/13/2014----It sure was nice weather on the north end of Hale Center at the Grumpiest Ole Mens Pool hall this past Wednesday. Coach always gets to the joint early and lights the fire and warms the table. Grumpy came by and tied up with Coach for a few before the crowd arrived. Both claimed to be winners. Ted and CD got there about the same time and they started the Annie Oakley (Annie Oakley is a partners game where if you make a ball your partner then shoots and back and forth,) When I got there CD seemed to be shooting better than the others, he and I teamed and won a couple. Little Earl showed and began coaching until his turn. Banker Ray came in and between him and Little Earl poor ole CD was catching it. Mr.Wiggy came in for a couple of games (he's a busy man.) Doyle was late getting there, but he made up for it. He was in good form. Wednesday was a good day. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

02/06/2014----Wednesday was a cool pool day in Hale Center. The north end of Hale Center in the old Burgess building was the site of a few exciting pool games. Everyone was a little late due to the cold I guess. Flipped coins to see who was who's partner and Coach and Ted took on Doyle and CD. Team C and T won and took on Grumpy and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man). Coach and Ted won again and again, they won several in a row before Little Earl came in and teamed with the hot stick of CD and unseated them. Lunch break. After lunch, it was back and forth with a lot of changing partners. When there is an uneven number of players, one of the losers sits out and a new player takes his place. It was a great day for pool. Fun, fun, fun, Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

02/03/2014----Sorry to be late, but the bug chased me down. Wednesday was a really nice day warm and not too windy. We had a good time hootin' and hollering. When I got there Ted and Coach were tied up with CD doing the sideline coaching. Cd and I teamed and won a couple, then Little Earl came in and started Ted on a winning streak. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started his trick shooting. We took a lunch break to grab a bite to eat and think of more things to hoot about. When I got back Doyle was there so we rolled about thirty minutes worth before Coach and Grumpy showed up for a setee. They were tough but we won in the end. Doyle teamed with Ted and won a bunch before CD and Little Earl bumped them off. It seemed to be back and forth most of the day. They were still going at it when I left about four o'clock, Fun, fun, fun, Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

01/23/2014----Wednesday was a good day for pool in Beautiful Downtown Hale Center. I was really happy to be able to play. I have been confined to quarters so much and it was a joy to be able to visit with the Grumpiest Ole Mens. Ted and Jacky were tied up in singles when I got there, both claimed to be winning. I played a couple of games before CD came in and teamed with me to take on Ted and Jacky. We nearly won the first three games and finally won the fourth game. Doyle came in so I got to rest for a little while. I took time to eat some cheese and crackers and rebuild my shooting arm. After I ate I got back in the fray I was plenty tough, Jacky and I won four straight and after one layoff won five more in a row. They called us lucky. The Littlefield Flash came by and teamed with Mr. Wiggy and they were plenty tough. Mr. Wiggy is a busy man and couldn't hang for many games. We had a good time and I'm the only one who remembers who won. Mr. Farmer and Banker sweated a few games and coached when Little Earl was shooting. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

01/17/2014----Wednesday waited on us, but the Grumpiest Old Mens were all busy (Farming) or sick (I had a doctors appointment that made a conflict of interest.) We took a vacation day and planned to be back next Wednesday. Enjoy your Hale Center Insider and come see us next Wednesday. Fun, fun, fun. Tj

01/14/2014----Wednesday was an unsual day weather-wise. Pool-wise it was great also! Jacky was there when I got there (Yay I'm out of quarantine) so I decided to shoot a few games. The coach (Ninja Kid) has been practicing and put the whammy on me the first three games. I finally won a couple before Ted (Powerhouse Ted that is) came in and softened Jacky some. Mr. Wiggy came by, but had an errand and said he would be back. Most of the players are on vacation(s) or laid up with cold weather maladies. I was sure proud to get to go and hope to go next time. We always have a good time. Come join us on Wednesdays. Fun, fun, fun. Tj

12/23/2013----Wednesday was a fine day for pool. I'm still confined to quarters, but the others were in a festive mood. Doyle said they were all humming or whistling Christmas songs as they waltzed around the table picking off one ball after another. He said it sounded pretty good considering they were all humming and whistling six different tunes. Coach Jacky got there and fired the furnace and warmed the table before Grumpy came in and got them started on eightball. It was nip and tuck before Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came and started trick shooting. He is tough. Ted came in and they started Annie Oakley. Ted always picks it up a click in Annie Oakley. Doyle came in and teamed with Ted for a short winning streak. Mr. Farmer shot a few games and had to go. Bobby Mac came in to watch, he declined an offer to play. Ish, Dad, the Littlefield Flash and Little Earl were no shows. I guess I'm through playing for the year. The G.O.M. will be on vacation for a couple of weeks. (Give you a chance to read your Hale Center Insider.) The Grumpiest Ole Men want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Have a safe Holiday. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

12/16/2013----Wednesday sure was a pretty day for pool. Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the table. Doyle came in and helped him warm up. (Both said they were ahead in games) when Mr. Wiggy came in and started sharing "Trick Shots 101." He is hard to handle when he is on his game. I think he has some of the others trying some of his shots.  Mr. Farmer came in and he was in good form, he and coach Jacky did a pretty good job of scorching Mr. Wiggy and Doyle. When Ted and CD arrived things had settled down to old fashioned Annie Oakley. I am still confined to quarters and the way they were talking I sure missed a good day of pool. Little Earl was late getting there so there wasn't as much coaching as usual. Banker Ray hasn't been by in a while. Ish, Dad, the Littlefield Flash and myself were no shows. Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesday. Tj

12/06/2013----Wednesday was a good day for getting out in the cool and shooting some eightball in BEAUTIFUL downtown Hale Center. Coach Jacky opened the joint and started a warm fire, he warmed the table while he waited on Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) so they could get started. Grumpy came by and watched a little trick shooting before he joined in. Mr. Wiggy was giving lessons when Ted showed up and they started Annie Oakley. Ted is really tough in Annie Oakley and he and Coack Jacky won a few before Little Earl came and started coaching. When Doyle got there it was hard to tell who was shooting the best, they were all bragging, YEP! it's hard to believe, but they were bragging. They all were happy to be there and sharing the warmth of the hall and the season. I am still confined to quarters. Ish, Dad, Littlefield flash and CD were no shows. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj

12/02/2013----Wednesday was a good day for pool, but the Grumpiest Ole Men were thinking beyond the day and the turkey beat the eightball and the GOM were on vacation for the day. Hopefully the little old fatman won't get them stirred up and we will resume Wednesday. You are all welcome to come by and shoot a game or two. It is fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.Tj
P.S. don't forget to read your Hale Center Insider in case you may have missed something.

11/21/2013----Wednesday was A good day. I went to the GOM Pool Hall and watched a lot of Matchups. Grumpy and Coach jacky opened the pool palace and warmed the table for about an hour before Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man( came in and started giving trick shot lessons. The smoothness of a stick in stroke is a sight to behold. Mr. Wiggy has cue control. Ted came in and the Annie Oakley started with a bang. Ted and Grumpy took control and kept the table for seven straight wins. CD and Little Earl arrived at the same time and took over for a couple of games. Mr. Farmer may have competition for the side pocket king title, CD shot a LOT of side pockets. Mr. Farmer played until his back played out and started coaching. (Coaching is usually Little Earl's job?) Doyle made the scene and started out hot, he and CD were on a roll when I left. Everyone was enjoying the beauty of the day and fellowship and fun. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

11/18/2013----Well!! I missed another Wednesday of pool, but hopefully next week? Doyle said he was late getting there and Grumpy and Jacky (the Ninja Kid) had the table hot when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) got there and started his trick shooting. What a site to see sometimes! They said that the "Ninja Kid" held his own plenty good against the "trick shooter." Mr. Wiggy can shoot a ball so soft that you think it isn't going to reach his object ball. Most of us shoot too hard for good control. C.D. has his "stick" back and is in good form until Banker Ray's hoorahing or Little Earl's coaching distracts him. Little Earl always shoots good unless he loses his temper (and there are a couple of GOM that gig him some.) Mr. Farmer did very well Wednesday. When his back is in place he shows that he can move the ball better than most and he is the "side pocket king." Doyle said he got there late, but played pretty good and won his share. Doyle's shoes finally quit squeaking so now he is just Doyle. Dad, the Littlefield Flash, Ish and myself were no shows. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

11/11/2013----Wednesday is special to some of the old men out and around, especially the Grumpiest Old Men. Dad opened our pool palace and warmed the table. Grump came by early and split the lesson giving with Dad before Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) showed up and started his trick shooting. When his trick shooting starts he is a sight to see. When Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) came in they started Annie Oakley. It was nip and tuck with Coach and Mr. Wiggy getting the best of Grumpy and Doyle. Doyle is really improving. He made a four rail shot that helped them win. Ted came in and took over for Grumpy and no one remembers who won the most. Little Earl came in and started coaching right away. He shoots good pool, but he sideline coaches better. CD made it and he and Little Earl teamed to win a few in a row. When Mr. Farmer made the scene he and Dad teamed for a good run before Mr. Farmer's back played out. Every one said that Dad was the Champ of the day. We are all glad he is back and in good form. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

11/04/2013----Wednesday is POOL day at the Grumpiest Ole Men's Pool Hall in beautiful downtown Hale Center. Boy! We had a double down this week, pool on Wednesday and Thursday. Doyle opened up on Wednesday and got things going, he is improving every week. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in next and they tied up for about an hour before Coach Jacky made an appearence and took the heat off of Doyle. They were glad when Ted came in and started the Annie Oakley. Had a lot of players that day, Cd came in early, Banker Ray came by, Grumpy shot a few games (he is always tough,) Little Earl came and played a few and coached a lot. Mr.Farmer only watched. I am still confined to quarters, but I know they had fun. THURSDAY Dad called and said "call the G.O.M and tell everyone I want to play on Thursday and I feel tough." Everyone was glad to see him, he opened the joint and warmed the table. They said he was putting on a show all day. The Littlefield Flash showed up (they were glad to see him,) Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid,( Little Earl, Cd, Banker Ray, Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man,) Ish came from Plainview, Ted and Doyle. I'm still confined to quarters, but I know they ALL had Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

10/24/2013----Wednesday was beautiful. The weather was perfect for pool. I am still confined to quarters and couldn't participate. I haven't had any contact with the guys, but when I do I'll report more. Wednesdays are Fun, fun, fun, Come join us. Tj...

10/16/2013----Wednesday was a good day for pool. I have been confined to quarters in Fort Worth, but hopefully I can catch up next week. In the meantime read your Hale Center Insider. I think we had an extra day of pool, I'll let you know soon. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

10/07/2013----Yes it was a good day, Wednesdays are always good at the Grumpiest Ole Mens Pool Hall. Doyle opened up early and got warmed up before Martin and I arrived. We three took turns pounding one another before Ted came and started Annie Oakley, Martin and I won the most, Martin is hot and in stroke, I think Martin was champ of the day. Little Earl showed up and changed things around, he teamed with Doyle and won a few then teamed with Martin and won more. Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) and CD won four in a row before they blew a gasket. CD is showing signs of getting his stroke back, he don't shoot much and it is a slow process. Mr. Wiggy came by and put on a good show with his trick shooting, he is something else. Banker Ray came in, but got a phone call and had to leave, Some are still on vacation, Mr. Farmer, Ish, Dad and The Littlefield flash. Come join us on Wednesdays. Fun, fun, fun. Tj...

09/30/2013----Pool Wednesday may soon change to Cool Pool Wednesday! It was fun as usual this Wednesday with Doyle opening the joint and getting it jumping. Doyle was warmed up pretty good when Coach showed and recieved his banking lessons, Doyle has been practicing his bank shots and you can tell the difference. Doyle and Coach deserve the most improved player trophy. Grumpy came by (said he only had a minute as he had sneaked off from work.) Doyle and Grumpy tied up for a long hard game, Grumpy prevailed and tied up with Coach who made short work of him. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and powerhouse Ted came in at the same time and began pounding Coach and Doyle in Annie Oakley. Trick shots and power shooting are a tough combination to beat. When CD and Banker Ray got there they teamed and won three or four in a row. Little Earl came by and took everyone out, Doyle said Little Earl was the champ of the day. I was confined to quarters, but Doyle called me and gave me the scoop. Bobby Mac came and watched for a while, kinda made up for the ones missing, Dad, Littlefield Flash, Ish, Mr. Farmer and myself. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays! Tj...

09/20/2013----Wednesday was a beautiful day for pool, but the Grumpiest Ole Men were on vacation. We wish yo all a good week and hope to be back next Wednesday with bells on. Read your Hale Center Insider and be good to one another! Tj...

09/16/2013----Wednesdays are always wonderful, but Wednesday was a little different, wonderful, but different. We got started late. When I got there the joint was empty so I rolled a few balls around and racked a nineball set. I was nearly through with my nineball rack when Ted showed and informed he was feeling tough, Boy! good thing I was warmed up'cause he was hot. Ted made the FIRST three ball combination of the year. It was a long shot, but he grinned and said "I aimed that time!" We are all shooting more like we should, boy we sure hit a slump there for a while. Mr. Wiggy came in and gave me some relief. You never know what is gonna happen when he starts his trick shooting. Coach Jacky showed so we started our Annie Oakley. Coach and I were partners and we held Ted and Mr. Wiggy to a draw after several games. Little Earl and CD came and gave coach and I some relief while they got their thumping. Ted and Mr. Wiggy were hot for a while. Doyle showed just in time to team with me and we knocked the champs off plenty quick. I left early, but they promised not to fight and I didn't see anything in the Insider so I guess they behaved. Lot of members missing, but when it cools and vacations run out? Fun, fun, fun. 09/09/2013----Wednesday, Wednesday! That is the favorite day of the Grumpiest Ole Mens. Martin and I opened up and had one game behind us before Ted showed up and took on Martin, it was a good game, a little long with a lot of defense. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and took on Martin and I, it was tough, but Martin and I won several in a row. It was Mr. Wiggy's 53 anniversary and I think he may have had other things on his mind. He sure was in a good mood so I guess all those years were good for him. Banker Ray showed up and joined (he is getting his form back quickly.) He and Ted handled Martin and I plenty easily for a few games. CD came in and partnered up with the banker and showed us some bank shots. I was sitting out and Poor ole Martin and Ted felt the heat. Doyle made it just before lunch and he and I took on the champs, well we got whupped plenty good. Ted and Martin turned it up a click and beat CD and Ray. Mr. Wiggy came back and teamed with Ted again, BOY! They showed off with long shots ,trick shots and a few short and straight in shots. Little Earl came by and shot a few games, he always shoots good eightball. We had a great day for pool. We missed Flash, Dad, Mr. Farmer and Ish. Tj...

09/02/2013----Wednesday rolled around again and we had our weekly setee. Doyle opened about seven (he has for the past three weeks) and got in a lot of good practice. (He has started banking a lot and making a lot of long rail shots.). Mr. Wiggy got there early and I guess (from what I heard) his trick shots over slept. He is a busy man so he didn't hang around very long. Coach Jacky came in, but couldn't stay very long (Dr. or something. By then I arrived and Banker Ray showed (he declined to play) so I took on Doyle, his tennis shoes were squeaking as he made his moves around the table. BOY! I sure was glad that Ted showed up, I got to rest some. I don't know if Squeaky wore down or Ted was just tough, but he ended the run. Mr. Wiggy Came back and we started Annie Oakley. Ted and I won a few then Mr. Wiggy had to go "error-gate" his peas so back to singles until lunch. (I shot really well for a few games, I wish my Niece Ricki Marie could have seen me.) After lunch Mr. Wiggy and banker Ray came in and took on Squeaky and I, it was touch and go. Banker Ray is getting his form back, he hasn't shot in a long time, but he is holding his own. CD came in and I let him take my place, he teamed with Little Earl (Made Banker Ray's day to get to rib CD even though CD and Little Earl won.) It was a fun day, not to hot, not too cold. The Little flash, Ish Mr. Farmer and Dad were no shows. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

08/26/2013----Wednesday was a great day for pool. We had a good crowd off and on. Doyle opened the joint about 7:00 and warmed the table. I got there early (for me) and found that Doyle had warmed up plenty good, He hammered me 'till Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and tamed him some with his trick shots. He left and Doyle was still hot. Whew! Ted finally came in and took the heat off of me. Banker Ray was next so we started Annie Oakley, you can tell that some of the old days of pool are coming back to the banker, he was tough. Ted and I finally got a string going (about 3 in a row) and We were doing really good until Little Earl came in and started showing off. He took my place with Ted and set up a good run. The Grumpiest Ole Men are getting their form back and need some more challengers. CD and Banker Ray have helped our game a lot. Ish, The Littlefield Flash, Mr. Farmer and Dad were no shows. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

08/15/2013----Wednesdays are special to a group of Grumpiest Old men. That is the day we get together and shoot eightball at the north end of Hale Center. My computer was in the shop so I missed last weeks report. It was a fun day with the regulars showing up as usual. The extras were CD and Banker Ray. CD shot a lot of good pool and if he missed Banker Ray was right there to hoot and holler. Fun, fun fun. Today was a fun day, it was so cool and nice and everyone shot pretty good pool. Doyle opened at 7:00 and was well warmed up when Coach Jacky arrived and recieved his lessons. Doyle had to leave for the doc so we got a break. We had a good crowd, Doyle, Coach Jacky, Mr. Wiggy, Ted, Little Earl, CD, Banker Ray and myself. I won a lot of games, but the trick shooting of Mr. Wiggy was something to see. We sure miss Dad, The Littlefield Flash, Ish and Martin. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

07/29/2013----Wednesday was a beautiful day for shooting pool, but the Grumpiest Old Men were on vacation and missed a great day. We will be back next Wednesday in full force, come join the fun. Tj - Don't forget to read your Hale Center Insider. Tj...

07/22/2013----Wednesday was a day of wonderful rain. The Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Tourney was washed out. Everyone was happy to take a day off to sit around and watch it rain. A lot of rain fell in the entire area (Big ole Thank You Lord.) We hope to make up for the miss next week. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

07/13/2013----As always Wednesday was a great day for eightball. We had a full house and it got loud every once in a while. Mr. Wiggy put on a show for quite a while. Dad came from Lubbock and showed off for a spell, he sure can move the cue when he decides to show off. He still plays good pool. The Littlefield Flash took time out from homeschooling to come by and whup us a few games. He is going to try to come by more often. Powerhouse Ted always waits until every one is warmed up before he makes his appearance. (Wants to give everybody a chance.?) Coach Jacky has really improved, when he turns loose the Ninja Kid you better get the rack! Doyle has been under the weather a couple of weeks and hasn't played. Hope he is well by Wednesday.

Ish has been working long hours and can't play for a while. Maybe he will get caught up soon. Banker Ray didn't come by. CD didn't show, they are fun and shoot good pool. Me? I got there early and warmed up so I won a few games. Our banking is back to where it should be, a lot of double banks, some three bankers, some four bankers and a FEW five rail banks. Fun, fun, fun. Come see us on Wednesdays. Tj...

07/05/2013----Wednesday was a great day for pool. A nice cool breeze blowing through the club and the buzz of the shooters whispering "I wouldn't have shot that ball that way." We had a big group. Mr. Wiggy was tough, Mr.Farmer brought Jose with him, the coach brought out the Ninja Kid several times, Little Earl used his tin stick and did well, Martin was on his game and won with several different partners, Powerhouse Ted took time out from farming to give us a lesson or two, CD came by and shot a few games, he always shoots good, Banker laughed at CD a few times and that made his day. Banker Ray don't shoot every time, but he has a good time, Me? Well? Ish, Dad, Danny and Doyle were no shows. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

06/17/2013----Wednesday was a beautiful day in beautiful down town Hale Center. The day started a little different than usual, Martin and I got there first and warmed the table. Martin was in good form, but I took the championship title of three games. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and did a little trick shooting before he had to go change his water. Coach Jacky came in next and played Martin, Martin felt the heat of the Ninja Kid! Coach was hot for five or six games? Little Earl came in and shot until lunch. Little Earl don't play much and he still shoots a good cue. I was glad when lunch came, I was tired (of being whupped) and hungry. After I filled up on pork and beans I started shooting a lot better. Powerhouse Ted was feeling bad or something, he shot very well, but went to lunch and didn't come back. Banker Ray came in about the time Mr. Wiggy came back and Mr. Wiggy talked him in to playing. He is a good pool player. He said he had not shot in eight years and he still shot good. We had a good time. Come join us on Wednesdays. Fun, fun, fun! Tj...

06/03/2013----Wednesday started a little slow, but finished with a bang. We had a small group, but the whooping and hollering made up for it. Mr. Wiggy, Squeaky and Coach were there when I got there, Mr. Wiggy (He's a busy man) and Squeaky were tied up in a game of singles, it was nip and tuck for a while, but Mr. Wiggy started his trick shooting and won the game. Coach and I took on Mr. Wiggy and Squeaky for a few rounds of Annie Oakley and did really well against the eagle eye and the trick shooting. Powerhouse Ted came in and took over, he teamed with Squeaky and gave Coach and I a few lessons before lunch. After lunch Squeaky and Ted took on Coach and I again and we thumped them pretty good for a while before Grumpy came in and took Squeaky for a partner. CD came by and shot a few games with Ted as his partner. CD is a good pool player. When I left the only ones left were Squeaky and Grumpy and they were hot at it. Thanks to Banker Ray for the cheering. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

05/23/2013----Wednesdays are special to a small group of Grumpiest Old Men in Hale Center. We have the Littlefield Flash (Danny Martinez), Dad (Nathan Owens), Coach Jacky (Jacky Stewart), Mr. Wiggy (Sherril Rigsby) (He's a busy man) Mr. Farmer (Ron Farmer) Little Earl (Ronnie Uptergrove), Powerhouse Ted (Ted Richardson), The Plainview Bomb (Ish Gonzales), Don Martine (Martin Gonzales), Squeaky (Doyle Curtis), myself and a steady visitor Banker Ray. Flash told us that he was taking time off to homeschool during the summer so the GOM may be on vacation some as the weeks go by. We had a good time Wednesday. Everyone was playing good pool and having fun. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

05/20/2013----Another beautiful Wednesday came roaring in and bringing with it a group of eightball players. It was a good day for pool. Flash and Coach opened the joint and warmed the table. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) got there early and showed off a little with his trick shooting. Dad and Squeaky were teamed when I got there and were doing a good job of thrashing Flash and Coach. Powerhouse Ted arrived about the same time I did so we teamed and made a good run for about an hour. Squeaky has made a vast improvement on his shooting and is now holding his own very well. Squeaky and Coach haven't been playing eightball very long, but it is hard to tell that the way they are shooting these days. Little Earl came by and shot for a couple of hours. He always shoots good. Mr. Farmer and Ish were no shows. We had a good day of Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

05/09/2013----Another Beautiful Wednesday arrived and we (GOM) had a good day of pool. Flash and Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the table. Flash said Coach could only play one game so he turned loose the ninja Kid and sent the Littlefield Flash back to the Practice table. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and showed Flash a few trick shots before he had go change the water on his beets. Doyle (now called Squeaky) came in and kept the Flash busy until I got there. We shot singles until the Coach got back and he and I teamed and whupped Flash and Squeaky. Coach and I did real well until the lunch break. After lunch Powerhouse Ted came and teamed with Mr. Wiggy and they were on a tear! They had a good run until Coach and I made a seven game winning streak. Little Earl came by, but did not play. Ish and Dad were no shows. All in all we had a warm, fun day. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Tj...

05/02/2013----The GOM are always happy to welcome another beautiful Wednesday. Flash, Coach, Mr. Wiggy and Doyle arrived at the same time to open the joint and warm the table. The Annie Oakley started early. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Coach teamed against Flash and Doyle. The winners remain a mystery? I got there about a minute ahead of Powerhouse Ted and Dad. I teamed with Ted and won a couple before Dad and Doyle knocked us off. Little Earl and Mr. Farmer made the scene and took over for a couple of games. Mr. Farmer is a site to see when he unleashes Jose on the side pockets. If Jose and the Ninja Kid ever got together?!? Katie bar the door! Coach and I teamed after lunch and won seven in a row ( a record for us). We had nine players and one sweater (Banker Ray). We had a blast and shot a lot of good pool. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.Tj...

04/26/2013----Beautiful Wednesday in Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. The Littlefield Flash called and said he couldn't make it.( a no show). I called Dad and he said he couldn't make it.(another no show). Mr. Farmer and Ish were tied up. Coach Jacky and Doyle opened up and warmed the table. They were tied on games when Mr. Wiggy came in and started his trick shots. You need to come by and watch Mr. Wiggy when does his trick shots, when he lays the wood to it things happen! Jacky and Doyle have really improved these last few weeks. And make a pretty good team. We all miss Dad, but he has been busy with his move to Lubbock. I hope he gets started back next week. Martin and I got there and joined the fun, we teamed and won a few and never did get to partner up again. Martin won about as many games as anyone else. Grumpy came by a few times and shot very well. He gets a BIG smile if he makes a hard shot. Banker Ray came by (Twice) to cheer for us, he's a lot of fun even he has declined to play so far. We were all winners. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.Tj...
Thursday was a special Pool day. Flash got free and called everyone for an extra day of pool. Doyle, coach Jacky and Martin joined Flash. I was tied up at the Keenagers in a meeting, GREAT grub and 42! I haven't heard who won or lost, but I'll update if I do.

04/21/2013----It truly was a fine Wednesday in Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Flash beat Coach Jacky there by a minute or so. They warmed the joint and each other until Grumpy came by and entered the fray (Coach and Flash both said they were the winner?) Grumpy was on his game and gave a few lessons before he had to leave. Mr. Wiggy and Powerhouse Ted came in at the same time and started the Annie Oakley, they are plenty tough when they team up so Coach and Flash had their hands full. Ish came from Plainview with the intentions of giving lessons, Doyle and Ish had their warm up game and Doyle gave Ish all he could handle. Ish won, but it was a tough game. Martin and I arrived and when our turn came Martin was ready, we won a few games before Ish and Mr. Wiggy knocked us off. It truly was a tough day. Little Earl came by and shot a few games, he wins and loses. Grumpy came back and made the "shot of the day" They lost the game, but it was a great shot. It would be hard to say who won the most games, but we are ALL winners. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

04/12/2013----Another beautiful Wednesday at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Grumpy and Coach Jacky opened up the joint and warmed the table. Coach said Grumpy hooked him a thousand times (I've told him a million times not to exaggerate) in what was the longest game in history. They didn't say who won? Grumpy plays good defense sometimes. Coach and Flash were tied up when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started his trick shooting. Sometimes he makes some unbelievable shots. Coach is really improving. Flash was hot when Martin and I got there. Martin played with Flash and the beat Mr. Wiggy and Coach. I played next with Mr. Wiggy and we won one and lost one. Doyle and Ted showed and the fun began. Flash and Martin thrashed them plenty quick. Ted said it was because they were "cold off the street." Ted and I teamed and won a few before Little Earl brought his luck in and teamed with Martin and took over for a few games. Dad and Ish were no shows, but we had a great time. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

04/06/2013----What a day we had Wednesday! Pool like it should be. All of the Grumpiest Old Men were in top form. Coach jacky opened and warmed the place and the table. (He and Doyle have been practicing on off days) The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky were hot at it when I got there. Flash took care of Jacky and I got my first thumping of the day. I was cold off the street and my performance was poor to say the least. Later I warmed up and did the best shooting I have done in the past six months. I was hot! Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and immediately started his trick shooting. Mr. Wiggy is a true artist when it come to making tough shots. Powerhouse Ted showed and teamed with Mr. Wiggy and they had a good run. Little Earl Got there and teamed with Doyle, they won a couple and like the rest fizzled out. You can tell that Doyle has been practicing, he is shooting better and don't take as long in between shots. Grumpy came in and shot one game. Grumpy is a very good player, he just doesn't get enough time in the Pool Hall. Mr. Farmer came by late and rejected his turn to shoot, said he had things to do? Dad and Ish were no-shows, said they would be there next Wednesday. No visitors (we enjoy visitors, gives us a chance to show off.) Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

03/22/2013----We had a good day Wednesday. Coach Jacky opened the joint and started eightball with Little Earl and Speedy Doyle. The Littlefield Flash is ill, he has some breathing problems. Flash has been coughing a couple of months and finally went to the doctor, he's waiting for test results. Ted and I got there about the same time and the Annie Oakley began -Ted was a powerhouse for several games, he and Speedy won seven in a row! Tough! Everyone was shooting better than they have in several weeks. Mr. Wiggy and Mr. Farmer showed up and took over for a while, Mr. Wiggy trick shooting and Mr. Farmers side pocket shooting was something to watch! Martin showed at noon and he was hot also, I won a few, but it was a tough go all day. Ray the banker came by and said he might shoot with us one of these days. He shoots good pool. Dad was tied up and Ish was a no show. We had a good time, Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
03/18/2013----Another great Wednesday in Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) opened and got things ready for a tussle with the Littlefield Flash. They tied up tight until Mr. Wiggy came in and started his trick shooting. I don't know who was winning when Powerhouse Ted made the scene. Ted and Coach Jacky took on Mr. Wiggy and Flash and Ted said they won the most. (I believe Ted, he don't fish). Martin and I arrived late (as usual) and got whupped quick! We change partners a lot in Annie Oakley, so Martin got to win a few. Dad was hot for a while, I was glad to get to shoot with him. Doyle (Speedy) came in and took over for a few games. Mr. Farmer was late, but he made up for it when he made a lot of tough side pocket shots. We had a visitor, Banker Ray. We always try to get Ray to shoot, but... Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

03/08/2013----Another fine Wednesday spent in Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool hall. Flash and Coach opened and warmed the table. Both were playing good pool when Mr.Wiggy (He's a busy man) and powerhouse Ted came and started the Annie Oakley. Ted and Mr. Wiggy were "cold off the street" so Flash and Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) were thrashing them when Martin and I arrived. Martin and I jumped in and got our whuppin' real quick. Grumpy came by but didn't play. Dad was tied up with the VA.  A young fellow named Chris came by and shot a few games with us. Shot good for a young'un. Mr. Farmer and Doyle showed up about the same time so they paired, both were shooting pretty good. Mr. Farmer did a "jump shot' with a table full of balls and didn't hit a ball? Doyle pulled his weight and they won a few. Ish was a no show, pretty weather and kids to feed sure interferes with pool. We had a visitor, Banker Ray came by and helped us hoot and holler. We came to the conclusion that we were ALL winners. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
03/01/2013----Wednesday was nice. The weather was great, the snow melt didn't leak through the roof too badly and we had a good crowd. As usual The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky opened the joint and got things warmed up. These two always get a headstart on the rest of us. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Powerhouse Ted showed at the same time and started the Annie Oakley. Don't know for sure who was winning before Martin and I got there, they all did a little bragging so...I saw some really good shots being made, I nearly made one. Doyle arrived and teamed with Flash and won several in a row. Mostly it was nip and tuck! Win one and set out win one and then someone else wins? It was tough all day. Little Earl came by and shot a few games and when he lost he left. Mr. Farmer played before We got there, but everyone said he was knocking the side pockets out, that's his best shooting. Grumpy and Ish were no shows. Everyone was/is thankful for the snow and the moisture it will provide. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
02/21/2013----Wonderful wet, cool Wednesday. Great day for eightball. Martin and I got there to find the Littlefield Flash and Ish tangled in a hook the other guy! They both were shooting really good. Ish won. We started the Annie Oakley, Martin and I took on the world beaters (Ish and Flash) and won. They thrashed us pretty good the next four games. I was glad to see relief in the form of Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky (Coach Jacky went trout fishing at Caudle Lake and did some acrobatics on the rocks at the dam!! He was sore). They lost and Martin and I lost and ...well Ish and Flash were tough until lunch and then it kinda settled it to everyone shooting pretty good. Mr Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by and he and I won a few. Dad, Mr.Farmer, Little Earl and Doyle were no shows. We had a fun day of hootin' and hollerin'. Grumpy (glad he's feeling better) came by and had to leave before he could participate. Fun, fun, fun!! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
02/15/2013----Busy day on the north end of Hale Center at the Grumpiest Ole Mens Pool Hall this Wednesday. The Littlefield Flash was back with bells on. Flash and Coach Jacky opened the joint and warmed the table. They weren't saying much so I don't know who was winning when Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man) came and warmed them both up. Powerhouse Ted and Grumpy arrived at the same time and started the Annie Oakley. It was nip and tuck until Dad and Ish showed and started giving lessons in english and shape, both were in good form. My Buddy Martin and I arrived in time to knock off Ish and Coach. Doyle showed up and started off shooting good. Doyle plays a lot of snooker, but we took him out. We wasn't scared! We rotate partners in Annie Oakley so Martin got some good partners and won ten or twelve games. Little Earl came by, but wouldn't play. Banker Raymond came in but declined an offer to play. Mr Farmer was a no show. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
02/07/2013----Wednesday pool was a success. The Littlefield Flash was tied up with taxes so it was up to Coach Jacky to open the joint and warm the table. Coach got there early and warmed up before powerhouse Ted showed up for his first lesson from the Ninja Kid. Coach turned loose the Ninja Kid and it took a couple of hours and us all ganging up on him to cool him down. I won a couple of games and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and the Annie Oakley started. It was plenty tough all day. Doyle and I won a few, then Grumpy showed up and he and Coach gave lessons for five or six games. Grumpy usually shoots good pool and today was a good day for him. Dad had an Eye doctor's appointment so he was a no show. Little Earl came by, but didn't play. Ish had to work. All in all it was great and Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
01/31/2013----Wednesday again and pool time. Flash was tied up so I called Coach Jacky to see if he was warming the joint and table. He was warmed up when I got there and I was glad when Powerhouse Ted got there and gave me some relief. Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) was pounding Ted and I plenty good when Doyle showed up and took the heat off of us. Doyle was in good form and made a lot of long shots. He takes time to set and aim and that is what we all need to do more. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came by, but couldn't play 'cause he had glue drying. Grumpy played a little more than usual, he had to change out a tierod on his johnny, but came back and shot some more. Dad was late, he went to Plainview to eat and came in full and shooting like a champ. Flash finally escaped after lunch and showed up with a funny grin. I'm not sure, but maybe Anita sent him to get some material and his van brought him to the G.O.M. instead. Mr. Farmer, Ish and Little Earl were no shows. A cool fun day at the Grumpiest 'Ole Mens Pool Hall. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
01/24/2013----What a great day for pool! Flash called me from Littlefield about eight am, said he was headed for the G.O.M. pool hall. He found Coach Jacky there practicing. Evidently the warm up helped... 'cause Coach turned the Ninja Kid loose and whupped Flash pretty good before Dad got there and took the pressure off of him. Mr. Farmer (the sidepocket king) and Mr. Wiggy got there about the same time, they teamed and the Annie Oakley began. Mr. Wiggy fired a few good rounds (he likes trick shots) before he had to leave (he's a busy man!) I had a good day, but I missed my best trick shot, my five bank shot on the eightball was a foot short. Grumpy and Doyle came in after lunch. (Dad had a big ole sandwich that took him from 11:00 to 12:00 to polish off.) Grumpy always shoots good pool and makes a good partner, Doyle searches out the best shots before he commits. I believe he thinks he's Dick Tracey the way sniffs out the easy shots. Powerhouse Ted and I won our fair share. We change partners a lot so it is hard to declare a clear cut winner. We are all winners, you can tell by the hootin' and hollerin'. Ish and Little Earl were no shows. Work sure ruins a good day of pool for some. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
01/17/2013----Boy! What a beautiful Wednesday for pool. The eightball players came out in force and were ready for action. Flash and Coach opened up and warmed the table. Dad got there early and slowed Flash down, Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) was in good form and and showed his long shot ability. Dad was Just Dad, trick shots, hot english and banking! Mr. Farmer and Powerhouse Ted were making a game of Annie Oakley when I got there. Mr. Farmer is the king of the sidepocket shots. I teamed with Ted and we won a couple. Ish was smoking hot, he and Flash won seven in a row. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and won a few, he sure likes trick shooting. When Doyle got there Flash was hot and they won a few before Ted and Dad knocked them off. Doyle is a snooker player and shoots good eightball. Grumpy took time out to shoot a few games, he and Coach won several games before he had to leave. Little Earl was a no show. We had a couple of visitors, Mom and Charlene (Dad's sister) came by and brought Dad a BIG ole sandwich, but we had all finished lunch so he had to eat it by himself. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
01/10/2013----Wednesday was a good day. A little moisture falling and a lot of pool balls falling. We got a late start, but made up for it with a lot of hootin' and hollerin'. Flash was the toughest for quite a while, but eventually it leveled out and everyone began shooting a lot better. Ted and Flash teamed and we started Annie Oakley. They kept the table for a long time, but finally Coach turned it up a Click and he and Grumpy knocked them off. I won a couple with Flash and a couple with Doyle. Doyle was shooting better than last time. It would be hard to say who was the toughest, but we were ALL winners. (The rain helped.) Mr. Wiggy came by but didn't have time to play. (He's a busy man.) Dad, Mr. Farmer, Little Earl and Ish were no shows. We were happy that we got to play after two weeks off. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
01/03/2013----Well the Grumpiest Old Mens were on vacation again this week.We are hoping to get together this coming Wednesday if the weather and the flu, allergies and colds cooperate. When we do come join the fun! Until read your insider.

--T.J. Henderson
12/20/2012----Wednesday was a good day for grumpy people. Truly a wonderful day where the sand blocked the harmful ray of the sun. Flash and Jacky were there first so it got hot quick. Flash must be a good teacher 'cause Coach Jacky sure is learning fast. Mr. Wiggy was up to his old tricks (trick shooting that is) Mr. Farmer is definetly the king of the sidepocket shots. Dad must still be boxing 'cause he was a no show again? Powerhouse Ted is always something to watch, he can use more high roll than anyone. Ish can light up the cue ball when he takes a notion (so can Dad.) I didn't see Little Earl or Doyle, but there is a lot of Christmas shopping going on. We may be on holiday vacation next week, if we are just re-read some of the past pool days! We, "The Grumpiest Ole Mens" want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to Sally and Terry and ALL of our fans. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

12/12/2012----We sure had a lot of fun, hootin' and hollerin' along with some fine pool playing at the Grumpiest Ole Mens Pool Hall Wednesday. Flash and Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the place up. Mr. Farmer (The Side Pocket King) entered next and began showing off immediately. Powerhouse Ted came in and the Annie Oakley began with a bang. Ted and Mr. Farmer were treating Flash and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) to an eightball lesson of the day. I teamed with Coach Jacky and we won a couple of games before Mr. Wiggy showed up and teamed with Mr. Farmer. Boy, with the side pocket shots and the trick shooting, they kept the table for a while! Little Earl came late and started shooting like he had been somewhere practicing. Doyle, Ish and Dad were no shows, I guess Dad was still boxing? It would he hard to pick the best shooter of the day, but we were ALL winners. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

12/05/2012----Super 8 Ball Day at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall Wednesday. Plenty of people and plenty of action. We had a good crowd. Flash, Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid), Ish, Powerhouse Ted, Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man), Little Earl and myself. Banker Ray came by, but declined the offer to play. Mr. Farmer, Doyle and Dad were no shows. Someone said Dad was boxing? Our special guest star El Don Antonio (Tony Garcia) came by to show off the skills of a 91 year old pool player. Tony is a better than average player. There was some excellent pool playing and some that was horrible. If I make a bad shot, they let me know they saw it! Ish was moving the cueball around better than usual. Scorching, that's what it was! Everyone shot well and we had a lot of fun. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

11/28/2012----Full house at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Flash, Coach, Dad, Mr. Farmer (the side pocket kid), Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man), Doyle, Little Earl, Powerhouse Ted and myself. We had two visitors, Oscar and Ray the Banker. The Annie Oakley was going strong when I got there. Dad and Mr. Wiggy were on a tear, they were plenty tough. Dad had his english working and Mr. Wiggy was hot in to trick shots. Power house Ted and Flash finally cooled them down enough for all of us to win a few games. Coach and I won three in a row then our luck ran out! Mr. Farmer won several games with his fine side pocket shooting. (A sight to see!) Everyone was in a good mood and shooting good so it was a fine day. Ish was a no-show! Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

11/23/2012----Sunshiny day ay the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall Wednesday.I was late as usual (I'm Captain of the Emergency Paint Team and had to work.) It was Annie Oakley when I got there. Doyle was teamed with Coach Jacky against Mr. Wiggy and Flash who finally prevailed. Jacky made the losing shot so I teamed with Doyle and we won. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) had to check his turnips so it was Flash and Jacky against Doyle and I, we won and Jacky had to go to Lubbock so we went back to singles. I beat Doyle and flash then Doyle beat me. It was TOUGH! Mr. Farmer had been there before I got there, Coach said he won a lot of games using his sidepocket shots. Boy, when Mr. Wiggy gets his trick shots going and Mr. Farmer gets hot on the side pocket shots they are tough. Little Earl, Ish and Dad were no shows, turkey anticipation I guess. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

11/15/2012----Pool came early this week as we met on Monday for our weekly get together. We had a good crowd. By the time I got there, there was a lot of opinions on who was the HOTTEST. Dad and Flash were hot at it and Dad finally pocketed the eight ball and our Annie Oakley began. Flash and I took on Dad and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and we had a time containing the hot stick of Dad and the trick shots of Mr. Wiggy. We prevailed and made a run at Coach Jacky and Dad, well we got a chance to rest for a game or two. While we were resting a new fellow came in Mr. Curtis. Mr. Curtis teamed with Mr. Wiggy (two Mr.s are tough) against Flash and myself, we got to rest again. We all rocked back and forth all day. It would be hard th pick a champ, but we were all winners. Mr. Wiggy brought me some turnips (they were good!) so I declare him the champ! Little Earl, Mr. Farmer and Ish were no shows. I didn't see Banker ray. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays

11/10/2012---- What a day, what a day! Fun, fun, fun! Wednesday was a good day for pool, cool with a nice breeze. Flash and the Ninja Kid opened as usual and got hot quick. By the time Mr. Farmer and Mr. Wiggy (He's a busy man) arrived they were cold off the street and had a hard time with the Kid and Flash. Mr. Wiggy's trick shots and Mr. Farmer's side pocket dominance kept them from being thrashed. Powerhouse Ted and Ish showed and Annie Oakley changed, things got hot. It seems like everyone picked it up a click. Grumpy was playing like a pro. When he aims he is deadly. When I arrived they here all hot so I had trouble keeping up, I finally won a game before a young fellow came in and joined us. He was a good player and held his own for a while. Little Earl uses a stick made out of tin or aluminum or something, but it sure shoots straight. When I left it would have been hard to choose a CHAMP, but we are all winners. Bobby came by in his Mercedes a couple of times. It's always nice to see him. I didn't see banker Ray? Fun, fun, fun!! Come join us on Wednesdays .

11/01/2012---- Skimpy day at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall this Wednesday; Stripping cotton, sickness and vacations were the culprits. Flash and Coach tied up early and were hot at it when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started his trick shooting, you should see some of his trick shots. Coach had appointments in Lubbock so he left early. Dad was at the hospital with Betty, I was confined to quarters. Mr. Farmer, little Earl and Ish were no shows. Ted and Grumpy were stripping so...I know it was a fun day and I wish I could have been there, Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
10/11/2012---- What to do on Wednesdays? I know, lets go shoot eightball with the Grumpiest Old Mens gang. We had a ball (ball) Wednesday at the joint. We started as usual, Flash and Coach started the day with a bang. (Both declared victory), Dad was in really good form part of the day, he scorched the rest of us for a few games. We had a good day playing Annie Oakley Eightball. I teamed with everyone there except Mr, Farmer, he was through shooting before I arrived. Mr. Wiggy was up to his trick shooting, Boy! When he's hot he's hot. He had to go check on his turnips (he's a busy man.) The Coach turned loose the Ninja Kid a few times and it was a sight to see. The Ninja Kid only found one bee to scrap with (it was a honey bee.) Powerhouse Ted was so perky that he even wanted a japaleno for lunch! Little Earl and Ish were no shows. We had a visitor, Raymond the banker, he shoots good pool, but declined an offer to play. Fun, fun, fun. Come on down on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
10/03/2012---- Wednesdays are always good in Hale Center. The Littlefield Flash and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) opened the club and went straightforth in to the "Trick shooting" match. Both claimed victory. Coach showed up for a couple of quick games and won both before he went looking for hornets nest (practice his ninja skills.) Dad and Ted showed up and started the Annie Oakley eightball. Dad as usual - gave lessons for a few games. Little Earl made an good showing with his tin stick (he says it's alumimun.) He and coach won a lot of games. I arrived late as usual and entered the fray, well I was "Cold off the Street" and didn't make a good showing. Later in the day I won a few games. Little Earl don't get to play a lot, but he was shooting really well and needs to play more. Grumpy don't get to play a lot, but today he came by for a few games and he was NOT that rusty. Mr. Farmer and Ish were no shows again. I wish they could get a little time off on Wednesdays. We didn't have any visitors, but a man had a flat tire out in front of the building. The "Atomic Runt" hasn't been by in a while? Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
09/28/2012---- After two weeks lay off we were ready to play pool today. The Littlefield Flash and Coach opened up and got hot quick. They both claimed to be the victors? Dad and Mr. Wiggy came in and the Annie Oakley started. Coach said he and Flash were ahead when he had to go take care of business. Mr. Wiggy and Dad took Flash and Powerhouse Ted to taw for a few games. Mr.Wiggy had to leave (he's a busy man) so they went back to singles until I got there. Ted and I played Dad and Flash to a draw. Coach got back so the partners changed again. Flash and I did really good holding Dad and Coach to a draw. After everyone got back from dinner (I'm Scot and don't do lunch.) It got hot!! Especially when Coach turned loose the Ninja Kid on a Bumble bee. It was nip and tuck, but with Flash helping he got the Bee. No Mr. Farmer, no Ish, no Little Earl and no visitors (except the bee.)Fun, Fun, Fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson
09/07/2012---- Eightball with a different meaning! We play hickey ball (the one in one side pocket and the fifteen in the other side.) Sure makes a difference. The Littlefield Flash, Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) and Dad arrived at the GOM pool hall Wednesday at the same time. They took turns beating on one another until Mr. Wiggy came in and started his "trick shooting!" Mr. Farmer came in a little later and displayed his usual side pockets expertise, He whallopped the others until Powerhouse Ted came in and cooled him down. When I arrived (late as usual) Mr.Wiggy was back at his "trick shooting." We didn't start our Annie Oakley until after lunch. The Flash eats three or four hot peppers with his dinner. Dad always comes back full and sassy. The rest of just eat whatever we can find. Flash was hot and he and Dad took the rest of us to taw for a few games. Ish showed up and as usual he was scorching that cueball. We changed partners a lot so everyone won and lost. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) had to leave early to check his turnips? It was a good day at the Grumpiest Old mens Poolhall. We had a couple of visitors, but I didn't catch their name. Grumpy and Little Earl were no shows. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays. Special invite to Jimmy Jefferys and Benny Gibbs. Oh yeah! The Ninja Kid left for a little while and I think he was looking for a wasp nest to hone his skills..
--T.J. Henderson
09/01/2012---- Another beautiful day at the POOL HALL. Coach Jacky opened up and was joined by the Littlefield Flash before he got warmed up. They both said they were ahead when Dad got there. Dad immediatly took over and started giving lessons (he does that sometimes.) I got there late as usual and Powerhouse Ted and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) Were thrashing Coach and Dad. Ted lost so he sat out a game and then paired with me. We won a couple and Ted had to sit out again. Mr. Wiggy had to tend business so we all decided to eat. Dad always goes home to eat and comes back full and sassy. We swapped over to nineball and Annie Oakley nineball is really something. Grumpy came by and played a couple of games. He's planting wheat and was afraid they would miss him if he was gone too long. We all shot good pool and it would be hard to decide who was the toughest. Mr. Farmer, Ish and Little Earl were no shows. We had a visitor but I didn't catch his name. We always have a blast at The Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

(Special invitation to Jimmy Jefferys and Benny Gibbs)
08/23/2012---- Another wonderful day of playing eightball: Flash and Coach opened up with a bang, Coach was hot (sometimes the Ninja Kid pops out of him and...) The Annie Oakley started when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and teamed with Dad. We had a young Lady join us about 10:30 and she shot very well. The Coach ran in to a few wasp and the Ninja kid popped out in him. Grumpy came by and shot a few games, he is always tough. I teamed with Powerhouse Ted and we won a few before Flash and the Kid took us out. Everyone was tougher than usual. We played nineball the last hour or so. It is faster than eightball and plenty of fun! I guess the cooler weather makes a difference? Mr. Farmer, Ish and Little Earl were no shows. We had a good day and would like to invite more visitors to come by and shoot pool with us. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

08/15/2012---- The Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall was buzzing with excitement as the Ninja Kid was fighting wasp again! The Littlefield Flash and Coach opened up and got things warmed up. The two of them were at it hot and heavy when Dad showed up. Flash was hot and took care of Dad rather quickly. Mr. Wiggy showed up and they started the Annie Oakley Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man) and dad scorched Flash and Coach until Powerhouse Ted showed, he and Flash took care of Mr. Wiggy and Dad. When I got there the whole crew was hot and needless to say I got pounded pretty good. After we all got warmed up it was close pool playing. It would be hard to pick the best of the day. Little Earl came by and won a few games and left. Mr. Farmer and Ish were "No Shows." We had two visitors, banker Raymond and CD. Both declined our offer to play and BOTH are good pool players. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

08/08/2012---- Wednesday was a good day for pool. The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky opened as usual, but didn't have time to warm up a lot before Dad and Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) showed up and started the Annie Oakley sessions. They were at it hot and heavy when Powerhouse Ted and Ish came in together. Somehow Dad and Ish teamed and began giving lessons. Both were hot. When I arrived I was teamed with Mr. Wiggy and we won a couple. It was hit and miss all day for all of us. We had a coke and a small (very small) mounds and everyone perked up a mite. Little Earl came by ,but didn't play. Banker McDonald came by, but we couldn't get him to do any banking for us. Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesdays.

08/01/2012---- The Grumpiest Old men decided on vacations for this Wednesday. We will be back next Wednesday IF the Good Lord is willing and.....

07/26/2012---- Wow! What a day! Wednesday was a good day for Grumpiest Old Mens Pool in Beautiful downtown Hale Center! Flash and Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the table. It was nip and tuck until Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started showing off with his "trick shots". Dad called and the Flash went and got him. They started the Annie Oakley and Dad and Coach handled Mr. Wiggy and Flash pretty easily for a few games and then the trick shots started again! Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Coach had to leave for a while just as I pulled up. I don't know if I scared them off or what?? Dad Let me play Flash and he thrashed me four in a row. Powerhouse Ted came in and he and I put Dad and Flash to the test. Annie Oakley 101, Ted was tough! Ted lost his wife last week and We were all saddened by her passing. Ted is a great guy and well thought of. Little Earl (Ronnie U) came in and joined us for the first time in a long time. Little Earl is a good player and he was fun to shoot with. Grumpy came by, but didn't play. Ish and Mr. Farmer were no shows. Fun, fun, fun!! Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

07/19/2012---- Eightball with a hickey ball, that's what it is. Wednesday is here and we had a fine time at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool hall. Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) said the Littlefield Flash called him early so he would have someone to warm up on. Boy!! Did he get warm. Powerhouse Ted came in next and gave Coach some relief. I think Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came next and started his trick shooting and changed things somewhat. Dad was shooting some really good pool. He handled the rest pretty easily. I finally got there and we started Annie Oakley. Ted and I won a couple before The Ninja Kid jumped out of Coach Jacky's pocket and he and the Flash took over. Coach and I ended up partners and got soundly thrashed for several games. Mr. Farmer and Ish were no shows. I hope Mr. Farmer's knee is better. Grumpy came by and was too busy to shoot, but he did talk about his and Carolyn's 45th. Wednesdays are always fun. Come join us.
--T.J. Henderson

07/13/2012---- Wonderful cool summer day this Wednesday:  Flash and the Coach opened and got a little practice before Dad made it and settled thing down some. Dad put on a good show before Mr Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started the Annie Oakley. Mr. Wiggy's trick shots paid off early. Dad and Flash were going great guns when I got there. Powerhouse Ted and I won our usual games before the position play and the trick shot of Mr. Wiggy took us out. Coach called out the Ninja kid and pulled off some mighty good shots. Made a couple of three rail shots. Flash always get hot after lunch and thinks he is Minnesota Fats. Dad gets in stroke and he cools Flash down. We had a lot of good pool. Mr. Farmer came by with his knee all wrapped up so he declined to play. We sure miss his side pocket shots. Fun, fun, fun. Come on down on Wednesday and join us.
--T.J. Henderson

06/27/2012---- I'm glad we have Wednesdays (the rest of the days too)!!! It began and finished as a great day. Flash and the Coach opened up and got in some practice before the rest of us arrived. Mr. Wiggy came in next and started showing off with his trick shots (Mr. Wiggy is a busy man.) When Powerhouse Ted got there they started Annie Oakley. And, it was plenty hot when I got there (I had to go to Edmunson and take Charlie something to work with.) Powerhouse Ted and I teamed and won a few. The Littlefield Flash was hot, hot hot! He was a clear vote for "Champion of the Day." Grumpy came by and shot some, he's busy planting. Mr. Farmer and Ish were no shows. Mom was in the hospital so Dad couldn't make it. We have plenty of room for visitors so come on down on Wednesdays. Fun, fun, fun!!
--T.J. Henderson

06/21/2012---- Wednesday was a great day for pool! Coach Jacky opened and warmed the table while he was waiting for the gathering. (I think he must sneak in and practice at night 'cause he sure is improving.) The Littlefield Flash showed and Flash and the Ninja Kid got it on. Both were hot when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) showed up and slowed them down. Powerhouse Ted came in and teamed with Mr. Wiggy, they took command right away. When I got there they were ALL hot. I was plenty lucky and won a couple with Ted as my partner in Annie Oakley. Overall I'm not sure we was playing really good, but we all made a lot of super shots. Ted and the "Kid" made the most double banks. Ish (The Plainview Bomb) stopped on his way back from Lubbock. He was hot as usual. Dad was "outta town." Mr. Farmer was a no show (probably taking lesson from the old guys down the street?) Our good friend Shorty came by ,but declined our offer to participate. (He's a good player.) Come on down on Wednesdays and watch the Flash make the "long shots," Ted make the double banks, Coach make double and triple banks, Mr. Wiggy performing his "trickshots," Ish using a lot of english and watch me rack!!! Fun,fun, fun.
--T.J. Henderson

06/13/2012---- Wednesday was a blast!! We saw some great pool shooting from everyone at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. Flash and Dad opened up and started their warmup with a bang. Coach said that when he got there it was going great guns. He said he turned loose the Ninja Kid and won a couple before Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Mr.Farmer (The side pocket King) showed up and started Annie Oakley. I was a little late as usual, but fell right in with the group. I made a lot of GREAT shots and still lost (I'm not sure they didn't use a little voodoo on me!.) Powerhouse Ted showed up after lunch (he was killing weeds) and he and I teamed and won a few. It would be hard to say who won the most. Flash put on a good show before lunch, Mr. Wiggy and Mr. Farmer used a lot of fancy english. Dad always makes a lot of unbelieveable shots. Ted and I along with Coach Jackie were pleased with our performances. Ish the Plainview Bomb, bombed out, he was a no show. I guess Grumpy was killing weeds? Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

06/06/2012---- Wednesday was a terrific day at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. The littlefield Flash opened and warmed the table while waiting for Coach Jacky to arrive. They had a few hot games before Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started his fancy stuff. They were glad that Ish (the Plainview Bomb) came in so they could start Annie Oakley. Powerhouse Ted and I were the late-comers, but we had plenty of clout when Powerhouse set his sights. It would be hard to pick winners (we are ALL winners). Coach Jacky turned on the Ninja Kid and he and his partner won several in a row, Ish had his english working and the Ninja Kid was hot so I guess they were the best. Mr. Wiggy showed off a lot on his long shots. Ted was steady and I was there! Dad had to take Mom to the doc so he missed, Grumpy must have spent the day seeing how much the rain helped his cotton. Mr. Farmer (The side pocket king) was out of pocket. Come see us on Wednesday. Fun, fun, fun.
--T.J. Henderson

05/31/2012---- Great day this Wednesday! Plenty of good eightball. Flash and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) opened as usual. They had hardly warmed the table when Dad entered and started his daily Eightball 101. He was tough all day and amazed the rest with a 180 degree cut to win (he and I were partners in Annie Oakley) Powerhouse Ted and I showed them what for right after lunch. I believe we won at least 8 or9 in a row. Whoever shoots the losing shot sets out, we lost and Ted had to set out. I stayed on the table for two hours and forty five minutes. (Not as good as it sounds, we lost some, but I didn't shoot the losing shot!) The Littlefield Flash and coach Jacky made a lot of good shots, it seemed like every time they aimed they made a ball? I may try aiming next time? Powerhouse always does well on short straight in shots. I may need to quit closing my eyes when I shoot? Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man), Mr. Farmer (English and side pocket cuts) and Ish were no shows. Grumpy came by to say hi and let us know how hard he was working. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

05/24/2012---- Wednesday was a super day for pool at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall. The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) opened up and got things going great guns before Dad and Mr. Wiggy (He's a busy man) came in and started the Annie Oakley. Flash and Dad handled The Ninja Kid and Mr. Wiggy until Mr. Wiggy started his trick shots and then they took control. The Ninja Kid couldn't make his side pocket shots. (He needs to take lessons from Mr. Farmer the side pocket king.) Powerhouse Ted and I got there at the same time so we teamed and did very well. Powerhouse is mighty powerful when he's hot. Mr. Farmer and Mr. Wiggy teamed up and between the trick shots of Mr. Wiggy and the hot english of Mr. Farmer they had a good run. Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) had to go rat killing so Mr. Farmer left too. Dad did his little showing off for a little while and Coach Jacky turned loose the Ninja Kid and I did a lot of sitting out. When I got back in Me and the Flash did our own little whizz bang. Grumpy didn't make it, maybe planting cotton? Fun, fun, fun. A good day! Come join us when you get a chance.
--T.J. Henderson

05/16/2012---- Wednesday was a beautiful day for pool.  The Grumpiest Old Men canceled play, too many on vacation.  I should have went anyway and been the champ of the day.  Play will resume next Wednesday and you are ALL invited so come on down, 'cause we have Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesdays

05/09/2012---- Fun, fun, fun on a beautiful Wednesday at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall.  The Littlefield Flash opened up and got in a little practice before Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) arrived and took him to taw.  They both claimed victory and I wasn't there so... Mr Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Mr. Farmer (the side pocket whiz) started the Annie Oakley.  Annie Oakley don't always work out as you want it, someone's partner hooked them on the eight ball.  Happened several times during the day.  Dad got there and started showing off with his trick shots (he did it all day.) Dad and Powerhouse Ted (He is Jimmy Cox's cousin.)  I was late (as usual) and Mr. Farmer had some errands so I teamed with Dad.  We won and lost.  We partnered a lot today, Dad and his trick shots and my being cold off the street.  Mr. Wiggy shot some fine pool.  (He had to go beat the rabbits off his garden several times during the day.)  The Ninja kid is really making some hard shots.  (I think he sneaks down and practices when we go to bed.  Grumpy came by and shot a few games.  He is always warmed up?  Ish was a no show.  (had to work)  We were ALL winners.  Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesdays
--T.J. Henderson

05/03/2012---- Wednesday!  What a great day for pool!  Coach Jacky opened up and was hot before the Littlefield Flash got there.  Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) was wearing the Littlefield Flash out pretty good when relief came in the form(s) of Powerhouse Ted and Dad.  Dad and Powerhouse took command right away and started giving lessons in Annie Oakley.  The ninja Kid said Dad was hot all morning.  Flash and the Kid were cool until after lunch.  Dad took Flash to lunch with him (I missed out and Betty is a great cook) and when they got back from lunch Flash and Ninja put it on Dad and Ted.  (Must have been the lunch?)  Mr. Wiggy came in and shot a few games (he's a busy man.)  He was shooting very good, but other things were pressing?  Ish,Grumpy, Mr. Farmer and I were no shows, the other three were working and I was confined to quarters.  Plenty of good clean fun at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall and you are all invited to come play on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

04/25/2012---- Wednesday (as told by the Ninja Kid) was a fine day for playing eight ball.  The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky opened and got thing going the right direction.  It was nip and tuck until Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started showing off, he was shooting one "trick" shot after another, he may be known as the "trick shot artist" one of these days!  Mr. Farmer came in and shot a few games.  He likes to show the rest how easy it is to make the side pockets (they call him the "Side pocket kid"), He is HARD to beat when he unleashes Jose (his mental coach.)  Grumpy came by, but he had a large water tank and I guess he was afraid it would get hot?  Dad couldn't play 'cause Mom had a Dr. appointment in Lubbock.  Ish was working (he's still young and has to work.)  I guess someone spilled some kryptonite on my elbow and I was worthless.  They all had Fun, fun, fun!  Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

04/17/2012---- Wednesday was a good day for pool.  Everyone shot a little better than last week.  The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the table before Mr. Wiggy and Powerhouse Ted showed for Annie Oakley.  There was no clear winners until I got there.  After I got there I believe any one of us could have beat the average third grader.  Mr. Farmer (the side pocket king) seemed to pep everyone up.  There was some fine pool shooting before we wound down for lunch.  Dad had to get a haircut so he was late.  Dad and I teamed against Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and the Littlefield Flash, they scorched us the first thing, then finally got beat when Dad and I came up again.  Grumpy came with field dust on his boots (to make us think he had been working) and shot a few games, when he is hot he is hot.  When Jose and the Ninja Kid both show up you can bet it's gonna get hot!  Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

04/11/2012---- Fun, fun, fun?  Wednesday was a great day for fellowship.  (The pool was Horrible.)  We have NEVER shot this bad since we were in the cradle. The Littlefield Flash was a no show.  (He had to help move a trailer house, He may be stronger than he looks).  Ish (the Plainview Bomb) had to work.  Mr. Farmer (the side pocket king) missed 37 sidepocket shots.  Mr. Farmer couldn't bring Jose in to his game.  Powerhouse Ted shot left handed and right handed, it was pitiful.  Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) was completely out of stroke.  (I think he was worried about his radishes.)  Coach Jacky shot the best because he woke up the Ninja Kid every once in a blue moon, Grumpy played it smart and didn't shoot at all.  Dad made some super trick shots, but his game sucked.  I well, I well..It was like a scene from a BAD movie.  (They told me to come back, I think they felt sorry for me.)  We need some young 'uns to get our blood flowing again.  Fun, fun, fun.  Come on down, you're all invited.

04/04/2012---- Great day in the neighborhood.  We survived all the april fool pranks and made it to the Wednesday pool games.  The Littlefield flashed opened and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) followed him in.  Well you could tell they had a little extra practice.  Dad was late (in Lubbock), but made up for it when he got there.  He sure makes some great shots (He was a pro you know.)  Ish and Mr. Wiggy teamed and the Annie Oakley got hot!  Powerhouse Ted was in good form as usual, he even used the burro on one shot.  The burro is better known as a crutch.  I got there late (as usual) and teamed with Flash and won four in a row.  Mr Farmer came by and gave lessons on how to make side pocket shots.  Everyone shot very well and we were all winners.  Come join in the fun on Wednesdays.  Thanks again to Ricky for the new table.

03/28/2012---- Good Day for the Grumpiest Old Men)s pool activities.  The Littlefield Flash opened as usual and Dad showed soon after so they got a little practice in before the rest got there.  Coach Jacky and Ish got there about the same time so the Annie Oakley began.  It was nip and tuck until Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and started his show.  It's a good thing Powerhouse Ted made it, he cooled them down fast.  Ted shot good for about an hour.  Mr. Farmer came and was hot on his famous side pocket shots.  I teamed with Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid and we did pretty good for a while.  I fizzled, but coach Jacky pulled me out.  Grumpy came by for a few games, he's always "cold off the street" but he comes in "hot".  All in all it was a good and lots of FUN, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesdays

03/21/2012---- The Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall was buzzing this Wednesday.  No cigarette smoke but plenty of chalk dust flying!  The Littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) opened up and warmed the table.  They were hot at it when Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) came in and took over.  Coach said Mr. Wiggy was plenty hot.  Ish (the Plainview Bomb) came early and stayed most of the day, Coach said he (Ish) was shining the balls with his special english. Powerhouse Ted and Dad teamed and won a lot of games before Grumpy came and started showing off.  Grumpy had a four or five game winning streak.  The Annie Oakley was hot and heavy today.  Coach said he would tell me who shot the best if I wouldn't repeat it so.....    We are ALL winners.  Everyone always has a great time and wish we had more takers.  It's Fun, Fun, Fun.  We didn't have any visitors today.  I was confined to quarters and Mr. Farmer and Little Earl were no shows.  Come Join us on Wednesdays.
--T.J. Henderson

03/07/2012---- Wednesday was good for pool, but not for me I was confined to quarters.  Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) opened up (the Littlefield Flash) was running late.  Mr. Wiggy came by and gave lessons for a while, Coach said Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) was hotter than a pistol.  Powerhouse Ted came in and started the Annie Oakley.  Mr. Wiggy was still hot.  They scattered for lunch and when they returned Little Earl (Ronnie U.) showed and shot a few games and according to Coach, he was doing really well.  Mr. Farmer came and teamed with Little Earl and thrashed the rest until Mr. Farmer had to leave.  Grumpy came in and took his place. The no shows were Ish the (Plainview Bomb), Dad (has a cough) and myself.  Fun, fun, fun - come join us on Wednesdays.

Kress Keenagers are having a 42 tourney, good food and fellowship.

02/23/2012----Wednesday was a very good day for pool at the "Grumpiest Old Mens" pool hall in beautiful downtown Hale Center.  The place was packed when I got there.  Annie Oakley was in full swing.  Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) and Ish the "Plainview Bomb" was hot, hot, hot much to the dismay of the "Littlefield Flash" and Dad.  "Powerhouse Ted" and Coach Jacky were the next to feel the heat of Mr. Wiggy and Ish.  I teamed with Ted next, I had an idea that we could cool them down, well!!!.  Finally Flash and Dad sent them packing.  Ish had to go to work anyway. Ted and Coach Jacky put on a show for a while.  (Coach Jacky started using his Ninja body english to make some really good shots.)  It is hard to say who shot the best pool, but it's easy to say who shot the worse.  Fun, fun, fun!! Come join us on Wednesdays.  Oh Yeah!  We Keenagers are having a 42 tourney in Kress and I need a partner for Mar 10th!   (The grub and fun makes it worth the effort.).

02/09/2012----Wednesday was a good day for Grumpiest Old Mens Pool in Hale Center.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad opened up and warmed the table.  (They said Flash was hot).  Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) and Mr. Wiggy (He's a busy man) came in and cooled the Flash.  The Annie Oakley began and it was hard to tell who was the toughest.  Grumpy and Powerhouse Ted made it...and things got tough.  It would be hard to pick a winner for the day.  We are ALL winners.  Grumpy brought us a good looking canopy to keep the rain off of us, but we used to keep the rain off the stove.  Sure helps warm the place faster.  Thanks Jimmy.  Ish was working and didn't make it.  The Atomic Runt and Jr. didnt come by.  Little Earl must be working too hard?  Fun,fun, fun!!  Come join us on Wednesdays.

02/02/2012----Wednesday was a great day for pool at the Grumpiest Old Mens pool Hall in Beautiful Downtown Hale Center.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad opened up as usual.  Dad was in stroke by the time Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) showed.  The next to show was Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man) that started the Annie Oakley series.  I got there about noon and discovered that we have a NEW 5 by 8 TABLE and it is a long way down to the other end.  Everyone showed off on the new table.  After lunch Ish (the Plainview Bomb) came and was in stroke right away.  Ish bought the old table at a bargain.  Grumpy came by and played for awhile.  Mr. Farmer came in and showed off.  Good to see him.  Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky was finishing up the day when I left, Everyone shot some good pool on our NEW table.  I just want to say thank you to Rick for giving us the table and Mr.Wiggy (He's a busy man) for having it set up and ready for us. Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us.

01/25/2012----Wednesday was a little thin when it was time to get to cookin'. Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) opened the day with some powerful eight ball. Mr. Wiggy came by (he's a busy man) for a while. Grumpy showed up with his hot stick and did well for a time. Coach Jacky said everyone was on their game and it made for a fun day. Dad was out of town (probably in San Antonio looking for the Texas Tornado.) (The Texas Tornado is a female nineball player who plays in all the world tournaments.) She is one tough TEXAN! The Littlefield Flash was down with the crud. Ish was working, I'm still confined to quarters and Mr. Farmer was out of pocket. Coach Jacky said there were visitors, but they didn't play. Fun, fun, fun. Come join us on Wednesdays.

01/18/2012----Wednesday was a good pool day.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad opened up and warmed the table.  (They both WON).  Mr. Wiggy came by three (3) times (he's a busy man) and put everyone in their place for a few games.  Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) gave Flash and Dad all they could handle before lunch.  I finally got out of confinement and made it after lunch.  I guess I left my talent in Kress?  Ish "the Plainview Bomb" could only shoot a few games, but he was hot.  Grumpy came by a couple of times (I guess he got all the cabinets painted.)  Grumpy took my stick when I decided to give up.  Mr. Farmer and Little Earl didn't show.  It was a fun day at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool Hall.  Come Join us. --T.J. Henderson

01/11/2012----Another good day of pool in Hale Center at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool hall.  I'm still confined to quarters, but according to reliable inside information it was a day filled with some of the best pool shooting (and the worse) in a long time.  The littlefield Flash and Coach Jacky opened up and warmed the table before Mr. Wiggy came by for a few games (He's a busy man).  Dad showed up and started showing off right away.  Powerhouse Ted teamed with Coach Jacky (the ninja kid) and had a good run before lunch.  After lunch Grumpy came in (I guess he got all the cabinets painted?).  The day was filled with hootin' and hollerin' and the Annie Oakley matches were pretty close and the "source" said it was really close with no dominant winner(s).  The true highlight of the day was the goodies brought in after lunch by Ms.Ninja (Maryann).  Another fun day missed by me, Mr. Farmer and Ish the "Plainview Bomb".  Come on down and join the fun. --T.J. Henderson

01/04/2012----Another GREAT pool day according to two (2) GOM.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad started the day as usual.  Flash was getting the best of it when Grumpy came and started showing off.  Mr. Wiggy came by (He's a busy man) and won three or four in a row.  Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) arrived about the same time so the Annie Oaklie started.  By both accounts it got tough a little while before lunch.  After lunch Flash started showing off and it took another trip by Mr. Wiggy to cool him down.  Mr. Wiggy and coach Jacky won several games before "Mr. W" had to leave again (He's a busy man).  Ish was working, Mr. Farmer and I?  Well we are still confined to quarters.  Fun, fun, fun! Come join us on Wednesday. --T.J. Henderson

12/30/2011----Fun on Wednesday at the Grumpiest Old Mens Pool hall.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad opened up as usual and were going at it tooth and nail when Powerhouse Ted and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) came on the scene.  They started Annie Oakley and were about even when Ish (The Plainview Bomb) came in and things livened up quickly.  Ish said he could only play until noon so he was gonna be TOUGH.  Coach Jacky said Ish lived up to his word and was really hard to beat.  Coach said that all in all it was a good day with everyone shooting good 8 ball.  The most exciting thing was...well I told the Ninja Kid I wouldn't repeat it here.  A lot of G O M were absent due to the holidays including me, I'm still confined to quarters.  Fun,fun, fun.  Come on down on Wednsdays join the fun. --T.J. Henderson

12/23/2011---- Wednesday was a slow day for the pool players.  Tony and I came in from Fort Worth about 2PM and Powerhouse Ted and his son Kurt were the only ones playing.  Tony and I shot a few games and Coach Jacky (The Ninja Kid) came in and took over for us so we could continue on our way.  Flash, Dad, Mr. Wiggy (he's a busy man), Mr. Farmer and Grumpy were no shows.  We had fun while we were there and the hooting and hollering was at full peak when we had to leave.  Fun, fun, fun.  Come join us on Wednesdays. --T.J. Henderson

12/14/2011---- Wednesday came early this week.  (Christmas shopping?).  Everyone met Monday and had quite a setee.  Flash opened up with Dad and they were going hot and heavy when Powerhouse Ted and Mr.Wiggy showed up for the weekly Annie Oakley.  I didn't get to be there (Confined to quarters in FW with a bad ear infection.)  Anyway the Littlefield Flash said he was hot and won more than he lost.  Mr.Wiggy only shot a few games (He's a busy man!).  Coach Jacky (the ninja kid) Showed and took Mr.Wiggy's place.  Flash said that the "kid" was off his game a little.  Ish was hard at work and didn't show.  Flash said he went to lunch with Dad and it was SOOO good and he got so full he could hardly hold his stick.  I'll be there next week, come on down on Wednesdays.  Fun,fun, fun. --T.J. Henderson

12/07/2011----Coach Jacky (the ninja Kid) called me and said they had a great time on this beautiful Wednesday.  The Littlefield Flash and Dad opened early and warmed the table, Ish (The Plainview Bomb) and Powerhouse Ted came and started giving Annie Oakley lessons, coach said they couldn't be beat.  Coach and Dad finally ended their winning streak.  Mr. Wiggy came by with his grandson from Florida and shot a couple of games (he's a busy man).  Mr. Farmer must still be in Oklahoma and Grumpy must be painting a cabinet for Carolyn.  I was/am confined to quarters with a severe vertigo attack?  or...?  I hope to be back next week, if not Merry Christmas. --T.J. Henderson

11/30/2011----Good day at the pool hall.  The last warm day for a few days.  The Littlefield Flash got there early and lit the fire, it was warm when I got there.  I warmed flash up pretty quick.  (I was in stroke for a few games.)  I think I came out one game ahead for the day.  Mr. Wiggy came by for a few games (he's a busy man!).  Powerhouse came in and things got hot, PT has been hot for three weeks.  Mr. Wiggy came back and we played Annie Oaklie.  Flash and I came out ahead of PT and Mr. Wiggy and Mr.Wiggy had to leave again. (A busy man.)  About an hour later Mr. Wiggy came back said he had time for a few games while his glue dried.  Coach Jacky (the Ninja Kid) showed up and we rotated partners.  Whoever shoots the losing shot sets out the next game.  Dad was still celebrating his 50th and couldn't make it.  Grumpy didn't make it, I hope he wasn't painting another cabinet for Carolyn.  We ALL shot good pool and did a lot of hootin' and hollerin'.  We had a ball.  Come join us on Wednesdays. --T.J. Henderson

11/24/2011----Wednesday was a great day for pool.  The Littlefield Flash opened as usual, he and Dad carpooled.  They warmed the table before Powerhouse Ted showed up and began a five in a row show.  Mr.Wiggy (he's a busy man) came and the Annie Oakley started.  Powerhouse and Mr. Wiggy gave lessons until Coach Jacky (the ninja kid) came in hot again and things began to rotate.  Grumpy showed up hot again (Flash said Grumpy shot better than usual).  They said he was like a whirlwind running arount the table.  Mr. Farmer came in and shot a few games (his ole back is much better).  Mr. Farmer always shoots well, his speciality is the side pockets.  He's a whiz.  Ish the Plainview Bomb was out of pocket again, I hope he gets caught up soon.  Me, I was behind the eightball.(in Fort Worth)  They didn't have any visitors welcome or unwelcome.  They said to wish everyone a good Thanksgiving.  We always have a good time, come on down on Wednesdays. --T.J. 11/19/2011----Wednesday was a great day.  It was supposed to be windy but it wasn't.  The Littlefield Flash opened as usual and Dad showed right quick.  (Dad has been on vacation and missed his pool).  They were at it hot and heavy when Powerhouse Ted and Mr. Wiggy (Mr. Wiggy is a "busy man") showed up for Annie Oakley.  I was a little late, they ALL claimed to be winning when I got there.  We rotated partners and I did pretty good until coach Jacky (The new Ninja kid) showed up and he was hot again.  Ish was working, Little Earl was busy, the Atomic Runt must have been stuck in Lubbock, Mr. Farmer was in Oklahoma for the play offs of Hughe's team.  My trick shooting was OK for a short time and then it fizzled.  Dad got hot and gave lessons first thing after dinner.  I guess Dad was the toughie of the day.  We need some young guns to come down and help us out.  We have a lot of fun, come on down on Wednesdays.  **Coach Jacky immediately became a ninja when we had visitors last week. --T.J. 11/09/2011----A Beautiful day in Hale Center and at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall." The Littlefield Flash got there a few minutes before I did and lit the heater. I warmed him up on the table before "Powerhouse Ted" got there. I even whacked him a couple of times. After they got warmed up they got tough. Mr. Farmer (Ron) showed and he and I teamed in Annie Oakley and Mr. Farmer capitalized on his ability to make the side pocket shots. (He's a whiz).
I think we were behind when Coach Jacky showed up and we started changing partners. If we have an odd number of players whoever makes the losing shot sits out. We had a few unwelcome visitors and Coach Jacky became an instant karate expert. The visitors finally tired of Coach Jacky's Judo games and flew out through a hole in the roof. (One of them got after Flash? I think). Mr. Wiggy was a no show, we know he's "a busy man." Ish was pulling a tractor in, Dad is still out having fun, I don't know what happened to Grumpy, maybe he was farming? I hope he wasn't painting another cabinet for Carolyn. Jr and the Atomic runt didn't come by? Little Earl (Ronny) didn't show either? The OLD Chief came by last week, but not today.
Fun, fun, fun. Come on down on Wednesdays. --T.J. Henderson

11/02/2011----Wednesday was a fine day for eightball at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall."The Littlefield Flash got there early and warmed the table. Mr. Wiggy came in for a session. Flash said they tied before Mr.Wiggy had to leave. (He's a busy man). Powerhouse Ted was wearing the Flash out when I got there and got me a dose of what Flash was getting. Grumpy came by and we played Annie Oakley. We (Grumpy and I) won as much as we lost. Grumpy had to leave, I don't know why, he wasn't going anywhere and he wasn't going to do anything when he got there. Mr. Wiggy came back (three times) and it got tough. Grumpy came back (his third time). I don't know won the most games for the day, but it wasn't me.Dad didn't show, he must be on a world cruise? Ish was working. Jr. and the Atomic Runt didn't come cheer. Had a fun day. Come on down on Wednesdays.

10/28/2011----We had a great day for pool at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall." We didn't need a heater or an air conditioner. The Littlefield Flash arrived first and warmed the table. Mr.Wiggy entered second and they played a few hot games of singles. Dad got there and did his little show for awhile. When I got there we played Annie Oakley. Dad and I were partners and did very well until lunch. Coach Jackie came in and he and I played while the rest ate lunch. Boy! I swear the coach has been taking lessons, he sure has improved. When everyone came back from lunch Powerhouse Ted and I teamed up and made a good long run of it. Mr. Wiggy had to leave. (He's a busy man) and Powerhouse Ted had to go check on Rosie, so Dad and I played Coach Jacky and Flash for bragging rights. We ended up tied when I left.

It was a fun day. Come on down on Wednesdays.

He must have practiced all the time he was gone, he was hot. Mr.Wiggy came by, but he's a "busy man" and couldn't play. Ish was at the hospital with his wife. The "Atomic Runt" and JR. didn't check in.
It was fun. Come on down on Wednesdays.

10/12/2011----Today was a really good day for pool at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall". It was cool when The "Littlefield Flash" opened up and Dad was right there rarin' to go. They swapped out until "Powerhouse Ted" showed up, and as usual, he started out hot. I was late getting there, but we played Annie Oakley, Flash and I got whupped. Mr. Wiggy showed up and played a few games (" he was cold off the street"). He and Dad were hot for a while. Mr. Wiggy had to leave before lunch (he's a "busy man"). He came back later, only had time for one game ...which he won. It would be tough trying to pick a winner for the day because there were so many good games. Grumpy didn't come by, Ish was busy, and coach Jacky is still missing. Fun times. Come on down on Wednesdays.

10/05/2011--Today was a beautiful day for pool at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall". Flash opened up as usual and Dad showed second, they fought it out until Mr.Wiggy showed and cooled them down some. Mr.Wiggy didn't get to stay very long; he's a "busy man". Powerhouse Ted came in and scrapped it out with them (he won more than he lost). Grumpy took time out for a few games (he usually comes by two times when he can). He is always tough and likes a light weight stick; I don't know why, he's big and strong. The partners games (called Annie Oakley because you alternate shots) were really good. It's hard to tell who the winners are because you change partners some. The Littleflash was the "hottest" for the day. The Plainview Bomb had to work and Coach Jacky is still in the mountians. Would like to have a tournament when the weather cools a little more. Great fun!! "Come on down" on Wednesdays. --T.J. Henderson

P.S......People ask me who is who. Yep they read the Hale Center Insider. Littlefield Flash is Danny Martinez, Dad is Nathan (Owens), Mr. Wiggy is Sherril (Rigsby), Powerhouse Ted is Ted, Grumpy is Jimmy, Coach Jacky is Jacky, Plainview Bomb is Ish and "I is me".

9/28/2011--A Beautiful day at the "Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall" Wednesday. We missed Coach Jacky, Ish the "Plainview Bomb" and Dad had Dr. appts in Amarillo. The "Littlefield Flash" opened up as usual and Mr.Wiggy came in for a few before he had to go. (He's a "busy" man). I got there in time to see their championship game. Flash won. Flash nearly wore me out before "Powerhouse Ted" came in and started his world class lessons for the rest of the morning. He won 27 in a row!
After lunch Flash got tuned up and gave lessons to Ted and I. Mr. Wiggy came back and took his lickin' too. I felt like a whupped pup and left about early. Jr. came by a couple of times to give us encouragement. All in all it was a great fun day. Come on down on Wednesdays and join the fun. --T.J. Henderson

9/14/2011--The Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall had a good ole Wednesday. A nice cool day for eightball in the Grumpiest Old Men's pool hall in Hale Center. The Littlefield Flash got there early (as usual) and tied up with Dad (Nathan), they both claimed to be winners when I got there. Grumpy (Jimmy) and the Littlefield Flash treated Dad and I pretty bad for a few games. Mr.Wiggy came in and partnered with Dad and put on quite a show. I left early so I missed Powerhouse Ted, but Flash said he abused the rest for the duration. I'm glad he is well enough to shoot with us. Coach Jackie must have headed for the hills. It's cooler in the mountains. We missed Ish the "bomb" from Plainview. Fun day, come join us on Wednesdays. --T.J. Henderson

9/07/2011--The Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall had a good ole Wednesday. The Littlefield Flash opened up and was ready when Dad got there. When I arrived, they were in a red hot match for the early am championship. Coach Jacky showed up at the same time so we played partners. We swap partners so it's hard to keep score. Ted, the powerhouse, revved things up as soon as he got there. He and I won a few in a row. When Ted had to leave, we went back to singles and I (I--Tj) won about seven in a row, and thought I should leave a winner. Mr.Wiggy (Sherril) showed up and took my place. He was hot too...and it was a good, cool day. We invite everyone to come down on Wednesdays and have fun with us. (We wish Ted and Rosie a speedy road to better health). --T.J. Henderson

8/31/2011--The Grumpiest Old Men's Pool Hall was cookin' Wednesday. The "Littlefield Flash" opened and got a game in before Dad (Nathan) came in and started giving lessons (The ole guy was showing off). I know he won six or eight games before we started our "partners". We change partners a lot so it was hard to determine a winner. I teamed with Plainview's "bomb" Ish and we won three in a row. Ted the 'Powerhouse' had to go have another stent put in. We wish him luck. Coach Jacky was a little off at the beginning, but came alive after lunch. The "Atomic Runt" came by (he's a HOOT) and visited for a while. Mr.Wiggy (Sherril) showed up and took my place, he was 'cold off the street'. It was a fun day.    "Come join us on Wednesdays." --T.J. Henderson

8/24/2011----Today was a good day for Eightball (most days are). The "Littlefield Flash" started earlier than the rest and got warmed up before we got there. We played "singles" for a while and it was a toss up between Dad (Nathan) and the Flash. When the "Plainview Bomb" (Ish) got there "Coach" Jacky showed and Partners began it started out tough and only got tougher. When we have an odd number of players the loser making the losing shot sets out. I ended up with Ish and he showed why he's the Bomb, we won a lot while Dad went to Lunch. Mr.Wiggy (Sherril) showed up and "Powerhouse Ted" showed at the same time, they won a few before Flash and I cooled them down. One of our best fun days in a while. We are happy that "Powerhouse Ted" felt like playing. Come on down on Wednesdays and join the fun. --T.J. Henderson

8/20/2011----Well folks I got the update on the pool matches. The "Littlefield Flash" (Danny) opened up and got things ready, the day was good with "Dad" (Nathan), "Coach" Jacky, Mr. Wiggy (Sherril) The "Plainview Bomb," Ish and the "Atomic Runt" (Jerry.) Dad and the Flash started things off with a bang and Coach and Ish came in later.  Mr. Wiggy and the Atomic Runt declined to play when they saw how tough it was. Dad ended up showing off and did a little 8 ball 101 session. He can get tough. "Powerhouse Ted" couldn't make it, he had three stents put in and came home yesterday. Come on down on Wednesdays and join the fun. --T.J. Henderson

7/21/2011----The Grumpiest Old Men's 8 ball had to be moved to Thursday due to a malfunction in the AC. It was warm but everyone had a good time. The matches were really tough (as usual) and at times winning was out of the question unless you really got in stroke. The "Littlefield Flash" put on a good show as usual. Dad (Nathan) cooled him down pretty quickly, and after I got whupped a couple of times, we played partners. Dad and I held our own, Coach Jacky and the Littlefield Flash teamed up. Coach Jacky and Ish the "Plainview Bomb" won a lot of games. "Powerhouse Ted" and Wiggy put on quite a show right after lunch.
