Sunday Morning...August 21, 2011
This is my first writing in the Kitchen Table but the Lord put something on my heart. While Terry and I were watching CBS Sunday Morning, I was also reading Joel Osteen's pamphlet called 30 Thoughts For Victorious Living. Today, I want to share from Number 5.
Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground ---Ephesians 6:13
We all face challenges and difficult time. God doesn't send these storms, but it's in time of difficulty that we grow and become stronger. It is an opportunity to allow God's Word to come alive in your life and see you through to victory. You can't run from everything that's hard in your life and expect God to deliver you immediately. God uses these challenges to stretch you and enlarge your vision.
Remain faithful during your time of adversity. Make up your mind to serve God no matter what comes against you, and God will honor you. Fight the good fight of faith. Remember, God will not waste anything you go through in life. You are growing. You are maturing. You are being prepared for promotion. Simply remain faithful and fight life through. In due season, in God's appointed time, He will promote you to new levels of victory, and you'll live that abundant life that He has promised you!!
Heavenly Father, thank You for making me strong through adversity. I thank You that because You are faithful to me, I can be faithful to You. Give me Your wisdom to make the right decisions today and the strength to stand strong no matter what life brings.
"My Mom (Dorris Fudge) always stood on Ephesians 6**. Before she would start her day, she would start in prayer and recite this Scripture that she quoted word for word. She talked about it often, therefore, it has really made such an impact in my life. I believe she prayed us into the "fold". She and my mentally handicapped sister prayed every day for me, my brothers and all of the family, including all of the grandchildren, and so many others. She was such a Godly woman and a role model. I know she is in Heaven waiting for me. She died unexpectantly on Sept. 22, 2003 and I miss her so much. But, there is hope in knowing I will see her when it's my time to go "home" to be with the Lord eternally. We all go through hard times. Sometimes we live in the valleys what seems like the majority of the time, But in the valleys are the most fertile soil and character building, and where Faith and Trust in the Lord grows. And, in the valleys, God is right there with us giving us strength to hold on. If we only lived on the mountain top, where would faith be???
Are you in a "Valley" today???? Turn to the Lord, Talk to Him, and have Faith that He will turn things around. It may be 11:59, but He knows best. All we have to do is Trust in Him and He will direct our paths. He loves you and me so much and through His Son Jesus, we can have "HOPE".

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
