Jolene Bell Bledsoe
Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 29, 2018

(03/26/18 Insider Obituary Archives) - Jolene Bell Bledsoe, a long-time resident of Hereford, passed away, Monday, March 26th at the age of 99.

There will be a Graveside service at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 29th at Hale Center Cemetery in Hale Center, Texas. The Reverend Kevin Bushart, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Hereford, will be officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Bledsoe will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hereford Heritage Funeral Home - Rose Chapel.

Services are under the supervision of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Jolene was born October 17, 1918 to Cecil and Cleo Bell on the Kimberlin Ranch in the heart of Grayson County, Texas. Her family settled in Hale County where they lived and raised their family. Jolene graduated from Hale Center High School in 1936. She then moved to Los Angeles, California in 1937, and married Orbie J. Bledsoe. She began her career with Lockheed Electric Company as "Rosie the Riveter." She ended her career with Lockheed Electric Company in 1975 after 32 years as a Human Resource Manager.

She was active in the Hereford Art Guild, the Hereford Cowbells, The Hereford Senior Citizens, The Golden Line Dancers, and the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bledsoe enjoyed painting with oil colors, making ceramics and creating her own dolls.

Jolene is survived by her sister, Cecilia Jenkins of Lake Whitney, Texas and 17 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her two sisters, Joyce and Bernice and two brothers, Charlie and James.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kings Manor Retirement Home in Hereford and Hereford Senior Citizens.
